Mark 16:2-6 (NRSV) 2 And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. 3 They had been saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?" 4 When they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled back. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man, dressed in a white robe, sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. 6 But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him.

Prayer Highlight - American Baptist Churches of Wisconsin Minister Meet-Ups |
ABC/Wisconsin and the Ministers Council of Wisconsin are teaming up this Winter/Spring to offer a series of Minister Meet-Ups...a time for American Baptist ministers to come together for mutual support, networking, mental and physical nourishment, and Holy Spirit stirring around topics that matter to the ministers vocational health and missional purpose. The two Meet-Ups which have occurred so far have gathered over twenty-five persons around topics of ABC mission priorities and mental health in churches. Four more gatherings are scheduled through May and will cover topics such as finances and the church, the challenging balance between church discipline and pastoral care, and more. Meet-Ups are hosted in homes or churches throughout the region. This effort aligns with the region's emphasis on strengthening relationships and creating synergy in mission. Please keep the American Baptist Churches of Wisconsin, Ministers Council of Wisconsin and all Meet-Up participants in your prayers as they listen to the Spirit.

The theme for the American Baptist Home Mission Societies America for Christ Offering 2016 is an appeal to "Become More Like Christ" based on Ephesians 2:10, which states: "For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life" (NRSV).
As American Baptists, let us respond to the America for Christ Offering 2016 theme of "Discipleship: Becoming More Like Christ." Let us take our place of service, as we seek to serve the most vulnerable in our communities.
