Baja Beckons !

It's been a long time since I've traveled to Mexico and I should probably update my scrapbook since this picture was taken circa 1979? of me (yes, legal drinking age) at the Tijuana Long Bar with my then boyfriend, now husband, Pete.

I'm excited to explore the great surf breaks south of the border and within driving range of our shores. We're planning our first ever Baja weekender with Manny Vargas, a seasoned tour guide who will take ALL the hassle out of the trip. Your meals, hotel stay, transportation, and yes, the surfing are all taken care of including great photos to document you and your buddies on the Baja waves.

Baja Weekender Sat & Sun Nov. 15 & 16

TIME: 5:30 AM Saturday Meet Time

WHERE: Meet time at The Starlite Restaurant on India Street. Street parking available.

DRIVE TIME: Downtown San Diego to first surf session approximately 50 minutes

DRIVE TIME RETURN: 45 minutes plus time in the Otay Border Crossing (1-3 hours)

New Murals at North Kellogg Park Comfort Station- help us finish funding!

La Jolla Shores Surfing Association is a proud sponsor of the newly completed murals adorning the walls at the North Kellogg Comfort Station. Our sincere gratitude and respect goes to the John G. Watson Family Foundation for funding this public structure in our beloved park. We are now seeking funding to help us plug a $2,000 funding gap to help pay for the tile production and installation of the dolphins in the outdoor showers and the surfing etiquette mural on the south wall. All donations are appreciated and may be made directly to (non-profit/tax deductible) Friends of La Jolla Shores.
