God can use you to transform the life of a child caught in a cycle of extreme poverty. See below.

August 27, 2016. Have you ever been jealous because someone else got what you wanted but you did not get it? It takes strength of character and tough-mindedness to walk free of jealousy. When I was younger, I never noticed feeling jealousy over someone excelling over me. I was satisfied with my work and behavior so why should I be jealous of the winnings of another? Until one day I heard an inner voice telling me I had become jealous and needed to repent.

John 21:20-22 (MSG) "Turning his head, Peter noticed the disciple Jesus loved following right behind. When Peter noticed him, he asked Jesus, "Master, what's going to happen to him?"  Jesus said, "If I want him to live until I come again, what's that to you? You-follow me."  Ras Robinson
August 27, 2016. It's time to take action. You have seen something coming for a while. You felt it would come and was hoping it wouldn't but it did. You have lost sleep over it, but don't let that continue.  Get counsel and listen to My Spirit. I will show you what to do. It will not be as hard as you are thinking. It might be a little difficult at first but stay committed and it will become easier.

Psalm 37:5 (NASB) "Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it."  Bev Robinson
August 27, 2016. You are going to learn one way or the other that some things just do not work out exactly as you supposed they would. With receiving goodness from the Lord, you will have to accept some of the world's bad that is mixed in as well. Unfortunately, you live in an imperfect world. Be thankful for all that God directs your way. The good and the supposedly bad are all a part of His grand plan of operation of working everything into something good.

Romans 8:28 (MSG) "He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good."  Kevin Robinson

Ministry to Children in the Philippines

These children live in terrible conditions at a garbage dumpsite. Their playground is piles and piles of trash and garbage. Their homes are scrap wood or cardboard or sometimes sacks or or old discarded tarps and other materials gathered from the trash. Many of them work with their parents to sort through the dumped trash, looking for items they can use or sell. They almost never have enough to eat. Some of them tell us they drink a lot of water at night because it fills the stomach when they have no food to eat.

Unless the children who are this poor are sponsored or assisted in some other way, they don't go to school because their parents don't have money to buy uniforms and school supplies and pay numerous other required fees. So the cycle of poverty continues as the children grow up uneducated and without work skills.

That cycle of poverty and lack of education can be broken. When a child is sponsored, it sets in motion many changes. They go to school and get supplemental nutrition. The sponsorship opens a door to evangelize the family. It is common for entire households to be saved and baptized and discipled together. Hope rises as the children and their families anticipate a better future.

What a joy to be part of God's plan to rescue children from poverty and help them prepare for the future. For only $1 a day ($30 a month), you can sponsor the education of a child and help transform that child's life.

Maybe you are not at a place where you can commit to sponsor a child. The pastor who ministers to families in the garbage dump shown above has 17 feeding centers across the area where he feeds and ministers to hundreds of very poor children. Any amount you can send to help with food for the children will be a blessing to them and to you. Many of the children only get to eat one small meal a day.
