August 25, 2016. Disturbances occur whether you like it or not. In such instances, Jesus wants to help you regain peace and calm. He knows you have taken a stand for Him to show the world that He can do all things perfectly. Jesus invites you to put Him in the middle of any disturbance. In this way He can demonstrate Himself as all powerful. Jesus is exalted through His sacrifice of His life.

Jonah 1:12 (NASB) "He said to them, "Pick me up and throw me into the sea. Then the sea will become calm for you, for I know that on account of me this great storm has come upon you."  Ras Robinson
August 25, 2016. Take one day at a time. Take one event at a time. All of the rush you are feeling will soon dissipate. Do what absolutely must be done first. Don't put that off. I have good things ahead for you. I have victory ahead. I have blessings ahead. Don't underestimate the value of My word especially at this time when you are overwhelmed. Take time for reading and meditating and you'll breeze right through this.

Hebrews 4:12-13 (NLT) "For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable." Bev Robinson
August 25, 2016. As a believer in Jesus Christ, there are things you should avoid. Steer clear of finger pointing and gossip. It might be hate that is at the core of your speech and actions. It is time for you to change your ways. Ask God to give you a paradigm shift, a shift toward His way of looking at matters. Begin looking at others through His eyes of kindness. Display His love in the creative ways He shows you.

1 John 4:20-21 (NLT) "If someone says, "I love God," but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don't love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?  And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers."  Kevin Robinson

Ministry to Children in the Philippines

This is a family home built on top of a garbage dump in the Philippines. Notice the packed down trash and debris that form the foundation. When they say their house is built from "wood," it is not what we might envision. The walls are scrap wood or sometimes sacks or or old discarded tarps and other materials gathered from the trash.

Most of the possessions of this family are items that were scavenged from piles and piles of trash. Unless the children are sponsored or assisted in some other way, they don't go to school because their parents don't have money to buy uniforms and school supplies and pay numerous other required fees. So the cycle of poverty continues as the children grow up uneducated and without work skills.

That cycle of poverty and lack of education can be broken. When a child is sponsored, it sets in motion many changes. They go to school and get supplemental nutrition. The sponsorship opens a door to evangelize the family. It is common for entire households to be saved and baptized and discipled together. Hope rises as the children and their families anticipate a better future.

What a joy to be part of God's plan to rescue children from poverty and help them prepare for the future. Would you like to be part of His plan for this transformation? For only $1 a day ($30 a month), you can sponsor the education of a child and help transform that child's life.

Maybe you are not at a place where you can commit to sponsor a child. The pastor who ministers to families in the garbage dump shown above has 17 feeding centers across the area where he feeds and ministers to hundreds of very poor children. Any amount you can send to help with food for the children will be a blessing to them and to you. Many of the children only get to eat one small meal a day.
