August 9, 2016. August is a time of intense heat where we live. Activity slows to a crawl. Most people realize there is no point in resisting the heat. Instead they seek shade and air conditioning. Some run away to the mountains for cool temperatures. It is a time of reflection on the year's activity. Public and private schools are preparing to start a new school year. There is safety and reprieve in the stronghold of the Lord. Once again God shows Himself to be our refuge and safe place. The oppressed seek understanding and comfort.

Psalm 9:9-10 (NASB) "The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble; and those who know Your name will put their trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You."  Ras Robinson
August 9, 2016. A large portion of time will soon be available. It will come completely with no expectations. You will ask, there is much to be done so why is it coming now? You will wonder what to do with so much time. You'll think: I'm not used to having so much available time. You will learn how to use unstructured time wisely. Don't waste time. Use it My way. You will ask Me how and I will show you.

Ecclesiastes 3:11-12 (ESV) "He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live;"  Bev Robinson
August 9, 2016. It is perfectly fine to have a good cry every once in a while. It is important for you to stay in touch with your emotions. It is vital to your well-being for you to identify what matters lie at hand and what triggers the overflow of tears. Never be ashamed of crying. However, be careful that your emotions don't get out of control. Trust Me with everything.

John 11:35 (NIV) "Jesus wept." Kevin Robinson

Ministry to Children in the Philippines

This great group of FCM sponsored young people sent this photo and are saying "thank you " for all you do for them.  All of them are from very poor homes. Some are orphans. Some lost everything in a recent earthquake and typhoon. Some of them have missed some years in school because of poverty.  Without the help of sponsors, these young people would have no chance to escape the poverty. Here are some notes from some of these that God has given us.

John Loyd. I am so thankful for all your help. Since June when class started I have the encouragement to wake up early. It is not like before when I was cutting classes and was sometimes absent in the class. Since I joined the "born again church," I realize that it is good for me to work hard to reach my dream.

Alliah. Hello dear sponsor.  I am doing good in my studies and with your help, I finish my projects one time (because the project fees are paid by FCM) and I paid my school fees. Math is not my favorite subject, but it is such a surprise because I got a high grade in math during our quizzes.

Rodney. On school days I need  to wake up early to feed the pig and carabao. That is my assignment every morning before going to school. In school I play the guitar every time we have a party. I also play the lead guitar in the church.

Leslee. I thank God for his faithfulness. I feel so discouraged about my father for what he has done. The police caught him using shabu (drugs). We did not know he was doing it. I cried to the Lord about it and I am so afraid. Here in the Philippines now there are a lot of killings because of illegal drugs. But I gave it all to the Lord. I am doing good in my studies. I study hard so that I can finish my education. Please pray for my family. Thank you.
