August 1, 2016. Having a good and beautiful wife who is still exciting as the girl of my dreams is more than I deserve. She is an anchor and faithful encourager I could only dream of having. She is truly priceless to me. Many, if not most, of my life achievements were inspired, encouraged and motivated by her. God has blessed us to parent together two children, four grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren as the cherry on my chocolate sundae. Hallelujah God.

August 1, 2016. Your mind is now going in the right direction. It wasn't, but you turned. Your body will follow your mind and you will continue following Me. You are calling out to Me and I will continue responding. I will download big doses of wisdom. Take one day at a time and continue doing what I tell you. Stay grounded in thankfulness. Let words of thanksgiving flow and watch what happens. You will first be pleasantly surprised then absolutely astounded.

August 1, 2016. Be known as a person who takes definitive action. Talk can be cheap in regard to getting things accomplished and being one who does what they say they will do. It is time to get the ball rolling and time to get things on the move. Be a promise keeper and one who stands by and behind their spoken word. Set the example unto Jesus Christ as one who conducts themselves in a godly manner and behavior.

James 1:22-24 (NASB) "But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was." Ministry to Children in the Philippines

Think of a time when you were so hungry you could think of nothing except food. Your stomach and your head aches from hunger. Now think of sitting in a classroom trying to concentrate on what the teacher is saying.

Unfortunately this is reality for many poor children. Not long after we began helping poor children in the Philippines get an education, the pastors who care for the children began to tell us about the hunger. Sometimes the children were so hungry or weak they could not, or would not, go to school. One little boy said he had to fetch water every morning, but sometimes he was so weak he could hardly carry the bucket because he had not had anything to eat for supper or breakfast. We knew we had to do something.

Ras Robinson suggested we call it "Food for Learning" because it would provide nutrition for the children God gave us and make learning possible. It is astounding how the children have changed. They are healthier and more alert. They do better in school. The boy who was so weak he could hardly carry the bucket of water now is strong and healthy and carries it with no problem. He is also doing very well in school.

You probably cannot imagine the importance of the gifts you send to help feed the children through "Food for Learning." By the way, the sponsored children who come to eat often bring their siblings with them. Other children and sometimes even parents stand around hoping their will be leftovers they can eat. It seems there is never enough for all those who come. I will never forget visiting a garbage site where we sponsor many children. It was time for breakfast before school for the sponsored children. Standing around outside where many "unsponsored" children looking through the windows. They were hoping for a few crumbs to be left after the sponsored children left for school. That scene broke my heart.
