Ministry to Children in the Philippines
Poor and hungry children in the Philippines bring their empty bowls and cups hoping they will be filled with something good to eat. The children pictured here are being served by Rejane, one of our sponsored young ladies. It gives her much joy to give food to hungry children because she knows what hunger feels like. They receive food, but many children like these don't go to school and have no hope that life will ever be any better. To go to school and prepare for a better future, they need sponsors.
Some have asked "Why do we need to help the poor children go to school?" In many developing nations of the world, education is only for those who can afford it. The poor don't go to school because they cannot pay the required fees, buy the required school supplies and uniforms. Some live far from school and have no transportation. When they are not educated, they cannot earn enough to live and provide for their families. So the poverty cycle continues.
Many of the children sponsored by FCM are heard to say "Education breaks the cycle of poverty." When children are sponsored by FCM, they receive ministry to body (food), soul (education) and spirit (the Gospel of Jesus and discipleship training). As a sponsor, you have the opportunity to change the future for a child and influence a nation.
We believe God wants us to help many more very poor children in the coming year and give them hope and purpose in life. Many Filipino pastors have contacted us asking to be part of FCM ministry to children. We have opportunity to partner with these pastors and bring hope to the hopeless.
The current school year is almost over (end of March) and we are now seeking Him to know His plans for the new school year which begins the first week of June. If you have been thinking of sponsoring a child, the time is now.
