February 5, 2016. Make the most of your day today. This day has come to you from the presence of the Lord. When it arrived, there was no blemish or scar. It is now your turn to use your own creativity to honor Jesus and make Him shine. He stepped out of His presence with the Father for your benefit. All things about and in Him are yours today. Dare to enter into His presence. Enjoy this new home with Him eternally!

February 5, 2016. An assignment you have known about for a long time has been given. Now you have received it. You knew it was coming soon, but life and work has been so full that you haven't given it much thought. Now it is time to produce. This will help determine your life's mission. Take the assignment seriously. It's a formidable endeavor, but you can do it. First pray and then get to work. It will affect many.

February 5, 2016. You understand the meaning of grace because of the grace, mercy and understanding I have generously shown you. With that in mind, listen attentively to the Holy Spirit who is urging you to extend and show grace to others just as you have freely received. People all around you are longing to experience genuine grace. Everyone, and I mean everyone, has mess ups. The question is, will you be one who shows grace unconditionally?

Ministry to Children in the Philippines
 This time next week my brother Jonas and I, along with 4 others who sponsor children, will be in the Philippines. My friend and mentor Vaughn Newman once told me, "Put your hands on the children. Hold them and bless them." It is one of my favorite things to do. There is something special about holding one of those dirty, smelly little children with lice and who knows what else. They usually just melt into my arms soaking up the love and attention. By the way, the way they get rid of the lice is to shave the head entirely -- boy or girl, it doesn't matter.
Thank you for your prayers and encouragement as we go. It is not an easy trip. For more than 24 hours we will be on a plane or in an airport. Then there is the heat and the busy, non-stop schedule. But the joy we experience as we see God at work in transforming young lives, is worth it. I cannot imagine doing anything else. What a privilege is ours.
While there we will have a meeting of the Board of Directors who are overseeing the building and operation of "The Father's House" orphanages. We will visit the first orphanage under construction now. Part of our assignment as Directors is to recommend a location for the second orphanage so building can soon begin on it. Thank you to all of you who have given to provide nice homes for some precious children.
We will meet with the pastors who care for the sponsored children. God has given us some of His best in these pastors.They untiringly give of their time and energy, their food and often their money to help poor children and their families. We have a wonderful partnership with these wonderful Filipino men and women.
We will also personally visit many of the children who are sponsored, always a highlight of every trip.
Thank you for your prayers, words of encouragement and support. We leave Tuesday, February 9 and return Thursday, February 25.
