Your Christmas gifts for children in the Philippines mean more to them than most of us can imagine. See below.

November 5, 2015. Humility is appropriate today. Keep asking Jesus to work the Fathers' work through you. Line yourself up beginning with the Father, then through Jesus and finally through you. You will be astonished at what happens when you are in proper alignment, seeing yourself only as God's instrument and channel. Jesus limited Himself to watching the Father and then doing the same as the Father. Because of this, the world will be changed forever.

November 5, 2015. I know you feel like quitting because so much is happening, but you aren't a quitter. I affirm that you are not a quitter, My child. You have never been a quitter. That is not your DNA. Yes, sometimes you have quit. It was at My bidding and eventually brought peace. But it's time to slow down. Don't get ahead of Me. The times are in My hands. I will show you when to go forward.

November 5, 2015. In a day and age where so much mud-slinging, slander and malice is spreading like wildfire, be a catalyst for good. Be the standard bearer which believes and speaks the best toward people and the innate good within them. Oh sure, you can dig rather shallow sometimes and find negatives about anyone, but what good does that bring? Don't be a naysayer. Give people the benefit of the doubt and speak blessings instead of curses. Speak life.

Ministry to Children in the Philippines

Something that surprised us concerning the children in the Philippines was the "party fee requirement." When there is a party at school (for Christmas or any other reason), each child has to pay a "party fee" in order to attend the party. If a child is unable to pay that fee, they cannot attend the party. The collected fees are used to pay for party food, decorations, gifts, etc. That is hard for us to imagine, but it is common in other countries.

The children we sponsor are from very poor homes where there is not even enough money for food, much less a "party fee." As part of the Christmas blessing for the sponsored children, those fees are paid and the children get to attend the Christmas party at their schools. We've had children tell us they never went to a party before and they say "thank you, thank you, thank you for paying the fee so I could attend."

We also say "thank you" to you for your generosity in giving to bless the children all year and especially at Christmas. Sometimes the simple things many of us take for granted are a huge blessing to others.

Our Christmas plans: Pay those "party fees" of course! We also desire to provide a gift for every sponsored child (all 821 of them) plus their siblings. We also provide something special to eat, either at a Christmas meal at the church or for them to take home. It is a big vision, but we have a great big God.

Some have said they are sending the same amount for the children in the Philippines that they are spending on their own families. Others say their adult children don't need much so they are giving more to the children in the Philippines. Some are giving in memory or in honor of loved ones. Some have given to honor Jesus as this special time of year. Whatever God speaks to you, will be a blessing.

Christmas is coming soon! We need to receive the donations for Christmas before Thanksgiving so we can send the money the first week of December to the pastors who care for the children.
