Joy lives with her family at a garbage dump site. She knows what real hunger feels like and how it feels to see other children going to school when she cannot. A sponsor changed all that.  See below.

January 20, 2015. Living according to the prophetic word of the Lord is the most exciting life there is. The Holy Spirit wrote through Peter the shining truth about God's word to you and me. He described it as light shining in a dark place. It waits there until it is the right time to shine into our hearts like the rising daily sun, illuminating the darkness. The word of God can lie dormant, but it never returns void. It illuminates the day when Jesus will speak even more clearly to you by His word. With such words you fight and win the battles of life.

2 Peter 1:19 (NASB) "So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts."  Ras Robinson

January 20, 2015. Something you heard was not derogatory. It wasn't a slam on something you are doing. It was just a simple comment. Don't allow yourself to suspect peoples sayings or actions. Be childlike in the face of evil. Don't let things said be filtered through some of your past. Don't allow the negative comments which were in your family growing up to affect your hearing. I put you on a new road, the high road. The low road is filled with people and ideas that drag you down. Beloved, rise above.

January 20, 2015. Let a "can-do attitude" be an earmark of whose you are. As a Christian, there should be observable evidence of a servant's heart, mindset and work ethic concerning you. An easy path would be one who is always deferring and passing the buck onto someone else. Instead of allowing a slacker mentality to creep into your midst, be a catalyst who leads quietly in representing Me by serving others with cheerfulness. My kindness and goodness should be evident to others of your renewed spirit nature. Remember it's Me you are serving.

Matthew 20:28 (TLB) "Your attitude must be like my own, for I, the Messiah, did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give my life." Kevin Robinson

Ministry to Children in the Philippines

Children gather in front of their home at a garbage dump site. Joy, the girl in pink in the front is sponsored and in 6th grade. Before she was sponsored, she could not go to school because of the cost. She and the rest of the family never had enough food. They survived by what they gathered from other people's trash. Sometimes they have begged for food in the streets.

Joy's mother is so thankful for the help given to her children. She helps cook food that is served to the children at the garbage site -- food provided by you Partners, Sponsors and Friends. The first time I met Joy's mother, she took my hand in hers and thanked me with big tears in her eyes.

Joy wants to be a teacher someday and works hard to achieve that dream. Here is a note we received from Joy: Every day my mother goes to Kids Freedom Center to cook the food for the scholars. Thank you sponsor for your help. Before we had this food, I was always sleepy during school classes because I was hungry and had a headache. Thank you also for the Christmas party. I experienced so much joy and I felt special.

A sponsor has made a difference in Joy's life that will last forever. The education, the food, the discipleship and mentoring she receives every day will direct her life in a totally different direction than would have been possible before. Thank you Sponsors, Partners and Friends!

You can make an eternal difference in the life of a child (or a group of children). Consider sponsoring a child or, if you already sponsor one or more, consider adding another. You probably will never meet here on earth a child in a far away country that you help educate or feed, but one day you may see that child in heaven and know he or she is there because you gave to help them.
