Do you sometimes wonder if sponsoring a child in another country far away really changes anything? These young people pictured here are quick to tell you it has had a life-changing impact on their lives. They are now in high school and college. It was not even a possible dream to finish school before. So now, instead of repeating a life of severe poverty, they are preparing for professional jobs. In addition, they have been intensely discipled and mentored so they will be Christian leaders wherever they go. The young people in this photo have been through earthquakes, typhoons and other devastating events. Those experiences have made them stronger and deepened their relationship with God. Has sponsorship made a difference to them? They would resoundingly say "YES. IT HAS!" What a joy it is that God gives us the privilege of being part of His plan for their lives.
You can make an eternal difference in the life of a child (or a group of children). Consider sponsoring a child or, if you already sponsor one or more, consider adding another. You probably will never see here on earth a child s far away that you help educate or feed, but one day you may see that child in heaven and know he or she is there because you gave to help them.

Kathy Bohlin is Executive Vice President of FCM & Director of our missions in the Philippines. She works closely with local pastors who care for almost 900 FCM sponsored children in 24 locations on 4 islands. In the Philippines the children affectionately call her Ate (Ah tay) Kathy.
