These sponsored children, along with some younger brothers and sisters, sang a special song for us when we visited them last month. 

Discipleship of the children and their families is a vital part of sponsoring the children. Many times when a child is sponsored, it opens a door for sharing the Gospel with a family. It is not unusual for entire families to be saved and baptized because of ministry to the children. In some instances, parents involved in criminal or terrorist activities have been saved and discipled. In one community, a father who was part of a violent terrorist group was saved. Now there is regular Bible study in his home and transformation is coming to the community because of it. Loving children softens hearts, making room for the Gospel message. 

Thank you, Partners, Sponsors and Friends, for your vital part in bringing transformation to families, communities and eventually to the nation of the Philippines. You probably will never meet the child or children you sponsor, or their family members. We pray God will, in some way, show you just how important your support is for that child. The change you make possible has eternal rewards. Thank you for giving to transform the lives of these children who were once hungry, dirty and without hope. You have made it possible for them to have dreams for the future.

Kathy Bohlin is Executive Vice President of FCM & Director of our missions in the Philippines. She works closely with local pastors who care for almost 900 FCM sponsored children in 24 locations on 4 islands. In the Philippines the children affectionately call her Ate (Ah tay) Kathy.
