For Christmas, the thing the children ask for most at is food. We would like to grant that desire as well as give each of them a gift. See below.


 November 18, 2014. Don't give up. You're making headway. Don't allow your emotions to get out of control or begin dwelling on where you think you should be. I know the return to normal isn't coming very speedily. That can be discouraging, but you are moving in the right direction. It will take longer than you imagined. You will get to the right place and will be stronger in the long run, but right now that's not where you are. Spend time in thanksgiving. Get your mind on the positive aspects of where you are.

 

Hebrews 10:35-37 (NIV) "So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while, "He who is coming will come and will not delay." Bev Robinson

November 18, 2014. The Lord wants to touch you to the extent that you become as another person. Your qualities and character will be that of someone highly trained in areas you now know little about. He will send Holy Spirit to change you from the inside out so that your witness will amaze people around you. The first Apostles were uneducated and untrained men. Most of them only knew the language of the sea, being fishermen or laborers in other jobs. And yet, these 12 changed the whole world. Pick up your mantle and go.

 

Acts 4:13 (AMP) "Now when they saw the boldness and unfettered eloquence of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and untrained in the schools [common men with no educational advantages], they marveled; and they recognized that they had been with Jesus." Ras Robinson

These bags were filled with good food for the children to take home for Christmas last year. The gifts of food made them very happy. According to one of our the pastors who cares for sponsored children, food is the most asked for thing for Christmas. Some of them have never had anything special to eat at Christmas and some have even gone hungry on Christmas with nothing at all to eat. We plan to make a a lot of children happy with bags of food again this year. Thank you for helping to do that. There is still time to send your donations for Christmas. 

 

We want to be sure these children and hundreds more like them have something special for Christmas. Many of you have sent donations already and we are so thankful. These gifts from Partners, Sponsors and Friends will make it possible to bless many very poor children and their families at Christmas. If you intend to help with Christmas, remember that we need your gifts before Thanksgiving so we can get the money to the pastors the first week of December.

 

Christmas can be just another day of hunger. We want to give a gift to every sponsored child as well as their siblings. For most of them, the gift you make possible will be the only gift they receive.
 

You can put smiles on many faces with your gifts to bless the children, especially at Christmas.  Go to Christmas for Children.

Ministry to Children -- For special needs -- Any amount helps. 
Disaster Relief Fund -- Provides help for emergency needs resulting from floods, earthquakes, fires, etc.

Kathy Bohlin is Executive Vice President of FCM & Director of our missions in the Philippines. She works closely with local pastors who care for almost 900 FCM sponsored children in 24 locations on 4 islands. In the Philippines the children affectionately call her Ate (Ah tay) Kathy.
