As you think of a way to honor Jesus at Christmas, would you consider a gift for very poor children in the Philippines? Read more below.

October 22, 2014. Think on the positive. I know you can readily see the negatives. But it does no good to rehearse what is wrong. Don't think again and again about what is wrong.  And certainly don't back it up with your words. The thinking and speaking of perceived wrongs needs to be directed to Me. Tell Me about them. Then leave them with Me. To fix what is wrong rest in My power, goodness and love. Stand on the Word I have given. Believe that the person of concern will hear Me and obey.

Philippians 4:8 (NLT) "And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." Bev Robinson

October 22, 2014. Observe the changing season. Excitement is in the air. Summer is gone and fall has come. Like the seasons, life is always changing. Only God is forever and even He changes things according to His word. New things begin but all things come to an end. Wise is the one who knows when to embrace the new and when to release the old. Kings, governments and cultures change. God sees that they come and go. Wisdom says to rejoice in each season. Learn to be flexible; it makes life better. Rejoice in this new season.

Daniel 2:21 (NIV) "He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning." Ras Robinson

Who is Like the Lord Our God?

Psalms 113:5-7: "Who is like the LORD our God?  He is seated on his high throne.  He bends down to look at heaven and earth.  He lifts the poor from the dust. He lifts the needy from a garbage heap."

God blessed me in the spring of this year with the opportunity to accompany my wonderful sister, Kathy Bohlin, to the Philippine islands. I pastor a church, Fullness in Christ Church, in northwest Tarrant County where Kathy and Bev Robinson serve as elders and Ras Robinson serves as our Overseer. The trip I made to the Philippines was as a representative of Fullness in Christ Ministries. Kathy did a wonderful job of planning the trip and putting us in position to be used in a wonderful way and to be blessed in an indescribable way by the Filipino people. I hope to convey just how much this trip changed me.

The ministry in the Philippines is about the children. It is feeding them, sending them to school, making sure they hear the Gospel with an opportunity to respond to the Lord, and loving them. At first contact with the children, it is easy to see that those things are being done.

Let me tell you how that happens and what happens as a result of this ministry to the children. There is a group of pastors and workers in the Philippines who know only how to serve. It is a little bit embarrassing to be served over and over and over. Those in leadership over the children teach them to serve and follow God by their own example. If I began to name names, I know I would leave someone out. Just know that I have never felt such love and respect from a group of people.

How does this show up in the children? That's the best part! The children who are so needy are being raised from the "garbage heap." They find a way to present the best they have. They want to give something away, whether it is an object, a performance, food or a hug, they always want to give. God is seated on His throne and He looks at heaven and earth and is raising these precious children out of the garbage. How do I know? I have seen it!

I saw children in need feed other children who were in more need. I saw children swarm the altar for praise and worship. I saw children lead praise and worship. I saw children minister, teach, and preach. I saw children who once had no hope excel in school and go to college.

The opportunity we have to shape the lives of some children can't be seen as a handout; that's not what they want. They want a chance to give, serve, love, teach and preach. When we invest into these children, we are investing into the future of a country!!  Let's go for it!  (BTW, my wife, Robin, and I are going in February 2015).

Ministry to Children

These children live at a garbage dump for a large city in the Philippines. They are called "scavenger kids" because they survive by digging through trash dumped from others. They look for items that can be sold or used. They hope to be able to sell something for enough to buy a little something to eat. With the help of Partners, Sponsors and Friends, the lives of these and hundreds more children are being transformed as they receive ministry for body (nutrition), mind (education) and spirit (the Gospel of salvation).

Without our help, these children will not receive anything for Christmas. It is our desire to provide a gift for every sponsored child and their siblings. What better way is there to honor Jesus at this special time of year? Jesus loves children and is pleased when we care for and bless them.

Only nine more weeks until Christmas. It hardly seems possible. You can make a child very happy this Christmas. Time is short. We need to receive the donations before Thanksgiving so we can get the money to the pastors in time to prepare Christmas for the children.
