The double disaster in the Philippines a year ago of the earthquake and super typhoon was devastating, but God has moved in a powerful way. Read more below.

October 18, 2014. At times you've wondered, "Why should I pray? It doesn't seem to help." Many times you give up and go another way just before the answer comes. You've heard it taught that people live in a microwave world and have come to expect results quickly. Living fast can cause doubt to arise. I desire fellowship and interaction with you. You will soon understand more about prayer and faith. You will have revelation that you have longed for. Beloved, you will soon begin walking in rest with peace and abundant victory.

Isaiah 30:18 (AMP) "And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!"  Bev Robinson

October 18, 2014. Are you up against an impossible situation? Think of Abram at 86 being told (God's WORD, not knowing it was the very seed he desired) that he was to be father of many nations. Like us, Abram did not realize he already had the seed he needed (God's WORD). When he finally realized he had the seed, he was 99 years old. And Sarah, at age 90, conceived Issac. With this discovery of the incorruptible seed, Abram became Abraham and is our seed and father today. Only believe and you will see.

Genesis 15:3-4 (KJV) "And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, this shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir." 1 Peter 1:23 (AMP) "You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God."  Ras Robinson

Earthquake Update -- One Year Later

Food and water and other necessities is handed out to victims of the earthquake and typhoon. The food was made possible by Partners, Sponsors and Friends.
A year ago this week
, we got news of a devastating earthquake in the Philippines on the island of Bohol where we had more than 300 sponsored children. We could not immediately reach all of our pastors because electricity and communication was down across the island. Most businesses were closed because of structural damage and lack of electricity. Many homes, churches, schools and businesses were destroyed or badly damaged. In two towns where we have many sponsored children, every structure in town was destroyed or damaged. Adding to the problems were heavy rains and wind when Super-typhoon Yolanda hit them 2 weeks later. I tried to imagine what it would be like to go through a Cat 5 hurricane in a canvas tent. Life was hard and chaotic on Bohol for several weeks and months in the hardest hit areas.

There is a lot of celebration this week on the island of Bohol as they mark the one-year anniversary of these events. They are celebrating life itself and thanking God for sparing them and helping them in the restoration. On Wednesday in Catigbian, near the epicenter there was a parade of thanksgiving to God followed by a citywide celebration in which the Gospel was preached and many came to know Jesus as the Savior who has cared for them.

It is true that when times are hardest, people turn to the Lord. Many people have been saved in the past year as the Gospel is unashamedly shared to disaster victims. One of our pastors has said that tragedy and disaster opens the hearts of people to hear the Gospel and accept Jesus. This has certainly been true. The churches are seen as places of refuge and help. In one church there are still people sleeping there every night. The last count was that 3 widows and 16 orphans are sleeping at the church.

We are so thankful that in this great disaster, not one of our sponsored children were killed or seriously injured.
