Photo of the Day

This is Joy. She does not have an easy life, but every time I visit the city where she lives, she is one fo the first to run to greet me with a big, beautiful smile. She lives with her family at a garbage dump and has worked with them scavenging the trash for items to sell so they can buy food. Her father is a laborer in construction but has no permanent job. Many times, they only eat gabi leaves in order to survive. Sometimes, she has to beg for money in the street. Without help from her sponsor, it would be impossible for her to go to school. Even with all her struggles in life, she is a happy child. Her mother regularly attend Bible study and church. She also helps minister and care for other children who live at the garbage dump and helps cook the food provided by you Sponsors, Partners and Friends. Joy has hope for the future that would not be possible without your help.
Here is a letter we recently received from Joy:
My father went to Cebu to find some work but, sad to say, that he worked but he did not receive his salary. We don't receive money for three months already. So my mother cook the foods in the church and whatever is left over, we will bring it home for our dinner. Nevertheless, poverty is not the hindrance for my success. Thank you sponsor. GOD bless you and your family!
