The greatest fear for most of the sponsored children is that their sponsors will stop sponsoring them and they will no longer be able to go to school. You might think the greatest fear is not having food, but as important as that is, it is not the greatest fear. It is not fear for personal safety, though that is sometimes very real. A child's great fear is losing his or her sponsor. It is sad but there are often conditions that force a sponsor to quit sponsoring a child. Sponsors, like everyone else, lose jobs or have income reduced. They get sick and have large medical expenses. Many things happen in life that affect ability to give to a ministry.
In recent weeks, we've lost an unusual number of sponsors due to financial issues. This leaves some of the children in a risky situation. For now, we are using reserve funds to provide for them, but those reserve funds are very limited. Would you consider sponsoring one of the children who lost a sponsor so they can continue to go to school? Perhaps you are already a sponsor and could add another child or two. Perhaps you have thought about sponsoring a child or two, but have not actually done it. The children are so thankful for their sponsors and pray often for them to be blessed. Maybe now is your time to become a sponsor and change the life of a child.
