Photo of the Day
This is Jenny, 9 years old. Isn't she precious? Her family lives at the garbage site of a large city in the Philippines. The family of 7 lives in a small 1 room nipa hut with no electricity or running water. The father drives a truck on a farm and earns a very small salary, not enough to provide for the needs of his family. Many times they eat one meal a day. The mother is sick and needs medicine every day. Without the help of a sponsor Jenny could not go to school.
Note from Jennie. My hard times were in the evenings because we would have to go to sleep without dinner or sometimes we only had some rice or water. Because of poverty, we could not always eat. Now, we can eat much in feeding center in the morning before we go to school. Thank you sponsors.

From Marjon (Jennie's older brother) - My sister Jennie and I are so grateful to our sponsors for your help, like foods as well as the financial supports for our education. Thank you Sponsor, we cannot repay you except to give thanks to God for His mercies endure forever for your family and my family. Before we were sponsored, we went to school with a hungry stomach without breakfast and sometimes no dinner. Today it is a privilege to be one of your sponsored scholars so we will study hard for our success.
Dear Sponsor and Ate Kathy, my desire is to finish my school to be able to work and help my mother in taking care of my younger brothers and sister. I am always taking care of my little sister. We go to the Feeding Program scheduled weekly in garbage dump site and we listen to the Bible Stories and eat our breakfast. I thank the Lord for your life being used by the Lord to send me to school because my mother is not able to send us to school. I hope you will help me until I finish even high school and if God will hear my prayers, I will study to be a doctor so I can help my younger sister who cannot walk. Love, Emelie
Dear Sponsor, I am Johneill. My family is happy even if we are poor. We can also eat out of my father's income from the garbage scavenging. He is able to get some cans, plastic and boxes to sell it for recycle. Sometimes he can only get 20 to 30 pesos per day (about 50 cents a day). My mother and I are happy that I am one of the FCM sponsored scholars and I can go to school. Thank you for helping me. Please take me in your prayers because I have headache always and I always take medicine for it. God bless us all.
