We need help:

The time has come to search for bright, active parents willing to help the PTSA by heading up a committee or subcommittee for the 2015-2016 school year. Whether you have a little time or a lot, whether you can only help from home or the office or you want to be at school all the time, there's a way for you to contribute. Please contact our Nominating Committee if you're interested in joining us! Contact Teri Fisher at terif21@aol.com for more information. We need you, and so do our kids!

Congratulations Marcos Young!

Marcos Young, a 10th grader at our school, has been selected to play in the U.S.A. Rugby High School All American (HSAA) National Team. He is the first Florida Rugby player to join the nation's best high school rugby athletes, participating in the U-17 National Team. During the first weeks of April he will be travelling to Europe representing the USA. The HSAA team will be playing France and Belgium. Congratulations to him and good luck!

Congratulations Science National Honor Society!

SNHS places 1st in the technical exam and 2nd in the engineering challenge at the state Astronaut Challenge.

Interact Gave Back!

Interact Service Club raised $3,100 at Panthers Got Talent Show and donated it to Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, the largest accredited sanctuary for large cats in the country.

Congratulations to the Band!

Palmetto's Jazz Band received a Gold Award (the highest ranking) at the music concert at Disney, and our marching band led the 3:00pm parade at the Magic Kingdom.

AP Computer Science:

Palmetto is proud to announce that AP Computer Science will be offered starting in the fall of 2015. In order to enroll, students must have completed at least Algebra 2 Honors and be at least a junior. Mr. Echeverria will teach the course.

Mock SAT testing at Palmetto:

The PTSA will be offering mock SAT testing on April 4 to prepare students for upcoming exams. Testing will take place at 9 am in the Media Center and costs $10 per test. Please note that these exams are simply for practice and cannot be submitted to the colleges. If you are interested in taking the exams, please go to http://goo.gl/forms/nV2jGXHltR and register online. Space is limited so reserve early. Testing is provided by Sanderson Test Prep. Any questions email rudygator@bellsouth.net.
