Miami Palmetto Senior High School PTSA

November 24th, 2014

Upcoming Events:

November 27 and 28 - No School

December 2 - EESAC Meeting

Sorry!

We apologize for the "test" blasts from our Campaign for Excellence sponsor, EZVet, which were mistakenly sent out to the entire e-news list. Human error was at fault. By the way, that's a great deal for our Palmetto PTSA family, so give it another look.

Algebra 1 End of Course Exam:

The Algebra 1 End of Course (EOC) exam will be administered to all students who are new to Miami Dade County Public Schools or to those students who did not earn a passing score beginning the first week in December. We encourage all students to log on to Algebra Nation (which can be accessed through the student portal)   and review their Algebra skills for the test. The test will cover the "NGSSS" skills. All 9th graders are also encouraged to use Algebra Nation to prepare for their upcoming test in April. Ninth graders will use the "MAFS" skills for the EOC. Every student must pass the Algebra 1 EOC in order to graduate.

Congrats to our 2014-2015 Silver Knight Award Nominees!

We love a party!

Peterson's Harley-Davidson is going to open its doors to us and host a fantastic party for the Palmetto High PTSA on Apr 25th, 2015. A band, a bar, behind-the-scenes tours of the dealership, and fun for all! Do you like a good party? Do you like Harley's? Do you like fun? Join the planning committee for "Black Tie and Blue Jeans". Our first meeting is Wednesday, Dec 3rd. Contact Anna at ahochkammer@gmail.com to join us in putting this together.

Congratulations to our POSSE Scholarship finalists:

Good luck as they enter the final round of selection. The prize is a full ride to an outstanding college.

Reyna Segovia, Aimee Jornlid, Meryl Kornfield, Ram Franqui, Anna Bensoussan, Lauren Ellis and Lisset Jarquin
