The Panther wins an award in Washington D.C.:

The Panther has won a Pacemaker Finalist award given to high school newspaper programs by the National Scholastic Press Association.  The award was for the work done last year with The Panther newspaper and the website.

Current Palmetto journalism students attended the NSPA convention in Washington D.C. along side more than 5,500 high school journalism students and advisers from across the country. The Pacemaker, which NSPA launched in 1927, is judged and awarded based on coverage and content, quality of writing and reporting, leadership on the opinion page, evidence of in-depth reporting, design, photography, art and graphics.

Drive 4 UR School Video Contest Winners:

Congratulations to our winners! These outstanding TVP students won cash prizes from the PTSA-sponsored Drive 4 UR School video contest. Winners will be submitted to the National D4URS video contest this spring. Check out their videos on our Facebook page.

The PTSA needs a Social Media Honcho:

We need someone to spend 10-20 minted per day updating our Facebook page, Twitter feed and calendar so that all of us in the know can stay that way. You can do it from your home or office on your own schedule. We will even take a student! Need community service hours? Then this is for you! Face it, you're on Twitter and Facebook all day anyway. Benefits include - a terrific title, knowing everything before everyone else, eternal gratitude, and a superpower to be revealed only after you have accepted the position. Campaign For Excellence Donors:

Let's thank our latest donors to the Campaign for Excellence. We are $4,000 toward our goal of raising $12,500 for a new computer testing suite. These businesses support excellence in your own backyard.

District mid-year assessments:
