AP Information Session:

On Thursday, Nov 13th at 7:00pm there will be an AP Information Session for 8th graders and their parents at Palmetto Middle School called "Advanced Placement: What every parent needs to know".  Speakers will be Palmetto's own Mrs. FarkasAsst. Principal Dobbs and PTSA Pres. Anna Hochkammer.  The event is co-sponsored by the MPSH and PMS PTSAs, and it's open to the public.  Spread the word!

District mid-year assessments:

They will begin in all Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 classes beginning Nov 17th.

Algebra 1 End-of-Course re-takes:

They will begin on December 1st. We encourage all students and their parents to log on to Algebra Nation (available through Chrome on your student portal), watch the videos and practice the available problems. All 10th, 11th and 12th grade students should use the NGSSS standards and topics (MAFS is for the present 9th graders).

Ninth grade Algebra 1 parents

It is never too late to begin practicing for your child's end-of-course exam. Algebra Nation is a perfect tutorial for those who are struggling. Our students who commit the time and effort to the program have been very successful on their EOC. Students should use the MAFS standards (not those listed above).

Sports Stars:

Alexa Rivas placed 6th at the state golf tournament.   David Burnham will compete at the state boys golf tournament this week.  Kaleigh Newcomb will compete at girls swimming & diving state tournament this week.

EZ Vet and Campaign for Excellence:

EZVet has joined Miami Palmetto Senior High PTSA's Campaign for Excellence.  Thank them with your business at their state-of-the-art facility at 12035 South Dixie Highway or call them at 305 255-7838. Welcome to the neighborhood, EZVet!

Music Department:

The Music Department, led by Mr. Best, just finished their marching season this past Saturday with the Florida Band Masters Association Music Performance Assessment and they received the highest rating - Superior.  They received a Superior in every caption (Music 1, Music 2, Marching and Maneuvering, General Effect, Auxiliary).

Musical Instruments:

Musical Instruments are rather costly, and we are looking for gently used instruments to add to our inventory as our program is constantly growing. We are in need of piccolos, flutes, oboes, English horns, clarinets, bass clarinets, bassoons,  alto saxophones, tenor saxophones, baritone saxophones, trumpets, euphoniums,  trombones, and valve trombones.
