Odyssey of the Mind:

One of the Palmetto Middle School Odyssey of the Mind teams has partnered with the No Place For Hate program and is excited to raise awareness about an issue faced by all schools and students today; bullying. This year the team has decided to participate in a program within Odyssey of the Mind called Odyssey Angels. This program challenges teams to use their creative problem-solving skills to help some aspect of our communities. The goal of the program is:

- Raise community and student awareness about the issue of bullying and make anti-bullying "cool"

- Raise money for the No Place For Hate program to help them in their efforts to combat bullying in our community

The team has created a t-shirt that will raise awareness in a "cool" way to show that "bullying is cruel, not cool!" All funds raised from this campaign, which runs from now until April, will be donated to No Place For Hate through the Anti-Defamation League. The t-shirts are being sold at the Miami Palmetto High School school store as of this week and they are $10.00. These t-shirts are uniform approved.

Volunteers: New sign in procedure.

The way it stands now, when you enter the school doors you sign in with Mr. Pete as a visitor. Now he will also ask you to sign in the "Volunteer Sign In Log". It will be a separate folder on Pete's desk just inside the main doors.

This is merely a reminder that this is occurring. Pete or the person signing in volunteers will direct as needed.
