Book Sale:

The Book Sale will be held in room 307 from September 15th to 19th. Get all your required reading and reference books in one place. Cash and checks accepted. Best of all, all profits are invested right back in to Palmetto. Shop local!

Algebra One EOC:

The Algebra One EOC exam will be given the week of September 15th for those students who need to retake the exam and for those who have never taken the exam. Four review sessions have been set up after school for those who need additional help. Students should plan on attending all 4 sessions in order to go over the 10 parts of the exam. The dates are Wednesday September 3rd, Monday September 8th, Wednesday September 10th and Monday September 15th from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. Interested students should report to the Media Center on Wednesday September 3rd for their assigned classroom.

Top High Schools 2014:

MPSH was just listed in The Daily Beast's "Top High Schools 2014". Our stand-out criteria were rigor and test results, combined with high graduation and college attendance rates. We were the only comprehensive high school in Miami-Dade to make the list! We had the highest APP passing rate in Miami-Dade at almost 70%! Congratulations are in order to Dr. Harley and the rest of the faculty and staff for outstanding results year after year.

Meet the Pinecrest and Palmetto Bay Candidates at our 1st PTSA Meeting

On September 11th, you'll have the opportunity to meet most, if not all, of the candidates for the open positions in our closest municipalities. They will be at our first PTSA meeting to listen and learn about our plans and challenges, so be sure to tell them what's important to you and your family.

This is a great way to put a face (and more important, positions on issues) with the names on the yard signs sprouting up across the Villages. No candidate will address our group formally, but they will be available to chat with parents before and after the meeting.

In the Village of Pinecrest, there are four candidates vying for two open council seats, and a total of nine candidates in Palmetto Bay for mayor and two council seats.

Volunteering Needs:

We still have a handful of locations in the school that need help. Let us know if your schedule allows you assist in the office, copy room, school store, or library on a semi-regular basis.

Volunteering is great. Saving a life is priceless. There are few comparable acts of giving of oneself. Saturday September 6 from 8 a.m. 5 p.m. 1 hour classes are offered FREE, all over Miami-Dade County. The American Heart Association's new CPR is easy, nearly contaminate free, and has dramatically improved patient outcomes in our Miami-Dade neighborhoods. That's a fact! Registration takes approximately 5 minutes online. Kids 11 and up are welcome with an adult.
