Commencement Weekend  GL grad
The weekend of graduation begins with dinner for seniors, their parents and faculty at Century Center the evening of Friday, June 10.  Plan to arrive between 6:00 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. We'll be seated by 6:30.  Our dining room is located right off the parking lot, the first room on the left.

From 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, seniors will practice for their commencement in the upper level of the People of Praise Community Center.  They will return at noon for the graduation exercises, which begin at 1:00.  Everyone is invited.

Dr. Celia Deane-Drummond will deliver the commencement address. Dr. Deane-Drummond is Director of the University of Notre Dame's Center for Theology, Science and Human Flourishing and professor of theology at the University of Notre Dame. Celia is also the mother of Trinity ninth-grader Sara Drummond Curtis.
Thank You!
Many, many thanks to all of our volunteers this year. You have worked hard in the office, hosted class parties, served at many evening school events, helped out at field days, worked on costumes for the drama department, served in many ways for the Medieval Banquet and in countless ways for all of our athletic events. Trinity students' social culture would not exist without you. It is an important part of their lives. Thank you all! Have a restful, rejuvenating summer.

Titan Robotics Success!
Seventy-two teams competed in the First Lego League North American Open at Legoland in Carlsbad, California. This was an international, invitation-only tournament, which Titan Robotics qualified for by finishing second in Indiana.

There are four judged areas in the competition: Robot Games, Robot Design, Project Presentation and Core Values Activities. The Robot Games portion is public, and participants can see the results of the three rounds on a leaderboard. Judging in the other three areas is not public until the end of the competion, and during the judging teams can receive a callback if they do well, so that more judges can see them.

Titan Robotics received callbacks for Robot Design (one of 13 teams) and Core Values (one of 10 teams), and we won the First Place Teamwork Award, which was under Core Values. We also finished in third place in the Robot Games portion, which was an enormous success, considering that the team scrapped the routine we entered in the state competition and developed a far more difficult program that would allow us to score more points.

We received trophies for both the Teamwork Award and the Robot Performance, third-place finish. We were the only team at the competition that received two trophies.

This was a great performance by our students against

serious competition, and the coaches did a great job throughout the process and particularly at times when things weren't going well. This was a great experience for everyone involved, and the team represented Trinity very well. Team members are Helena Drake, Graham Harding, Jackson Kirby, Ceci Kurdelak and Peter Rossi, and the coaches are Gene Harding and assistants Jeff Kirby and Frank Rossi. If you get a chance, please congratulate the kids and thank the coaches.

Parent Service Association Sign-Ups for 2016-17
A letter and volunteer forms will be mailed soon through an email much like this monthly bulletin, inviting parents to volunteer to serve social and school sponsored events for the 2016-17 school year. Please read it closely and consider what you can do to support the school.  It is an enjoyable way to get to know other Trinity School families as well as providing an excellent social culture for your children. Thank you for taking the time to consider the options and thank you so much for your involvment in Trinity School.

Seventh- and Eighth-Grade Students: Are you eligible to get free college tuition through the 21st Century Scholars program?

The 21st Century Scholars program began in 1990 as Indiana's way of raising the educational aspirations of low- and moderate-income families.  The program aims to ensure that all Indiana families can afford a college education for their children.

Income-eligible students in grades six, seven and eight who enroll in the program and fulfill a pledge of good citizenship to the state are guaranteed the cost of four years of undergraduate college tuition at any participating public college or university in Indiana.  If the student attends a private institution, the state will award an amount comparable to that of a public institution.  If the student attends a participating proprietary school, the state will award a tuition scholarship equal to that of Ivy Tech Community College.

For more information and the online application, visit their site.  The deadline for registration for eighth-graders is June 30.  Several Trinity School graduates have taken advantage of this scholarship program over the years.  Please contact Dr. Josh Kaiser at jkaiser@trinityschools.org or 574-287-5590, ext. 273, if you have specific questions.

Physical Forms and Parent Consent Forms for 2016-17 Sports

Completed physical forms and consent forms for fall sports need to be in the office by Wednesday, July 1. However, if your insurance only allows one physical per year for your son or daughter and you can only schedule a phusical after July 1,  that is understandable.  When you have your physical paperwork completed please send it in to the school or you can email Mr. Gionfriddo a scanned copy via his email, mgionfriddo@trinityschools.org.

Starting June 1, all 2015-16 consent forms are no longer valid. If your sons or daughters are taking part in any summer tournaments or practices with Trinity athletics, they will not be allowed to participate until a new consent form is turned in. Please send your completed consent forms to school.

All current forms can be found here at our website. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Gionfriddo at the above email address or by calling hm at school, 573-287-5590, ext. 228.

Go, Titans!
