A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Call me crazy, but I don't know if anyone is happier than I am to see

that spring has finally sprung in Pennsylvania. A warm weather person by nature, I found this winter to be daunting, as I'm sure a lot of you all over the country did as well. We're finally getting some much needed sunshine. In these times of warmer weather and longer days, I think we all get inspired to do some spring cleaning. Our houses, our cars and even our wardrobes probably need a little overhaul in preparation for the coming months.

This may also be true of the surgical instruments in your center. Even if you and your staff use the best possible practices in caring for your delicate instruments, they still occasionally need a little tender loving care to keep them in optimal working condition. Whether it's scissors that need to be sharpened, forceps that need to be realigned, or a needle holder that needs to be reset, sending your surgical instruments to our expert repair technicians periodically is an inexpensive way to

  • prolong the life of your instruments
  • provide preventative maintenance to your investment
  • ensure that your surgeons have the most effective tools to perform delicate procedures

Our typical repair turnaround is just 48 hours from your approval and we can repair just about any stainless steel or titanium instrument from any instrument company. Customers who have repaired instruments with us have actually mistakenly thought we had sent them new instruments, when we had really just sent them their own fully cleaned, repaired and refurbished instruments. How's that for a thorough repair?

As we welcome spring and all it has to offer, consider giving your instruments a little spring cleaning too. Trust me, your surgeons will thank you.

PUTTING THE "Z" IN TEAM

On May 4th, two members of the Ambler Surgical team joined a different kind of team to help in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. Kellina Holt, Customer Service Manager, and Lauren Baldwin, Account Manager, participated in Zumbathon for MS, 2014 with their team The Philly Freedom Z Rockers.

Zumba is a dance fitness program created by Colombian dancer and choreographer Alberto "Beto" Perez during the 1990s. It involves dance and aerobic elements which incorporate hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo and even martial arts. It's a great way to have fun while torching calories!

The Philly Freedom Z Rockers joined other teams from all over the greater Philadelphia area on the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum to energize the city in a two hour fitness party! The Philly Z Rockers were in the top ten fundraising teams, known as The Fierce Ten. The team raised more than $3,000.00 for the cause! This earned them the honor to lead the crowd of more than 200 in two dance fitness routines, and Kellina and Lauren Top Participant nods!  To date, this year's Zumbathon fundraising effort has reached $74,141.01 of its $80,000.00 goal.

Ambler Surgical couldn't be prouder of Lauren and Kellina for their involvement in such a worthy cause. We hear they had a blast and will have many lasting memories of this year's Zumbathon. We're thinking an Ambler team is in order for next year. Who's in?
