WE'RE MORE THAN A GYM. WE'RE A CAUSE.

Good morning! John asked me to share this update with you. We are excited to announce 100% of our Directors have made a pledge to our Annual Campaign. Our Directors strive to lead by example every day in our commitment to the children and families we serve. We hope you will help
us do even more to help our community's children and families learn, grow, thrive and live healthier lives.

"Jordan & Joshua have made outstanding progress in the Reading Rocks program!"

From A to Z, from Reading Rocks to Racquetball Lessons, the Meriden YMCA offers programs that provide kids with the building blocks for life. With your help, we can do so much more.

Here's how you can help...

1. Give what you can. No gift is too small. Turn in your pledge form today
or donate online through our web site.

2. Volunteer at one of our events.

3. Share your voice. Tell us your Y Story. What does the Y mean to you? How did you get involved with the Y?

Here's My Y Story...
Jonathan's first membership card

We joined the Meriden YMCA when my oldest son Jonathan was a baby. I needed a place to work out that had child care, and we wanted to meet other families because we did not know anyone in Meriden.

The Child Watch staff cared for both of my sons over the years like they were their own. My boys had fun and were safe while I worked out and we've met some wonderful families.

In Child Watch, the after school program, and at Mountain Mist Day Camp my boys made friends, had loads of fun, and I've had peace of mind knowing they get great care while I am working.

At the Y my sons learned social skills, how to swim, self defense in karate class, coordination in gymnastics class, and good sportsmanship. They discovered new interests in racquetball and clay class, and Josh developed self confidence on the swim team. Jonathan wants to be a camp counselor.

I started working here five years ago. It is easy for me to market the Meriden YMCA because I know what a difference the Y can make for a family. For me the Y is the place where my children learn, grow, and have fun, where we exercise and stay healthy, and where everyone is welcome. The Y is family, the Y is home.
