To have information considered for inclusion in the Digest, please submit it to [email protected] no later than 5:00 pm Tuesdays. All events posted are for the following week, events submitted for the same week will not be included in the Digest.

Inclusion in the Digest is at the sole discretion of 2-1-1 Texas/United Way of the Brazos Valley and is dependent on their guidelines.

Domestic Violence for Employers, September 13



Domestic violence affects 1 out of every 4 women and chances are you may have a victim employed within your organization. This training is designed with the employer in mind.


In this training you will learn:
- The dynamics of domestic violence
- How it affects the workplace
- How to work with victims/employees
- Safety for you and your employees,
 - Your role as an employer

National Night Out Kick Off Party

Join your local public safety agencies for FREE family-friendly fun at the National Night Out Kickoff Party! All activities, food and drinks are free! Activities include child fingerprinting, public safety demonstrations, vehicle displays, kid-friendly activities, National Night Out Block Party registration, community health booths and much more!  The goal of National Night Out is to heighten awareness of crime prevention, to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. On the evening of October 4, all residents are encouraged to step outside to mingle with their neighbors and to visit with local law enforcement officers, who will be stopping at neighborhood block parties throughout the evening. The Hispanic Forum will be hosting the Fourth Annual 5K Run for Education starting at Rudder High School. The Hispanic Forum believes that this the perfect avenue to encourage our community to have a healthy, active lifestyle and focus on the benefits of education.
