To have information considered for inclusion in the Digest, please submit it to [email protected] no later than 5:00 pm Tuesdays. All events posted are for the following week, events submitted for the same week will not be included in the Digest.
Inclusion in the Digest is at the sole discretion of 2-1-1 Texas/United Way of the Brazos Valley and is dependent on their guidelines.

2016 Chalk Talk for Women Benefiting Twin City Mission

The Texas A&M Football Chalk Talk for Women returns in 2016 with host Aggie head football coach Kevin Sumlin. Ladies 18 years of age and older are invited to attend this event which is set for Wednesday, July 27. Doors to the Hall of Champions (Entry 3, west side of Kyle Field off of Wellborn Road) open at 4pm with the program set to begin at 5pm. Casual, comfortable attire with tennis shoes is suggested. Cost is $80 and includes dinner, Chalk Talk session and a gift. Registration is online at www.12thMan.com/chalktalk. Registration will close Sunday, July 24 at midnight. Proceeds from the event and the silent auction will benefit Twin City Mission.

Free Grief Workshops Offered by College Station Medical Center

The College Station Medical Center's Senior Circle will be offering a free series of grief workshops open to the public. Participants will receive a journal and DVD to accompany the program, which is led by counselor Brandi Riley of Visiting Angels and speaker and author Mary Margaret Mann. The workshops take place over a period of five weeks and cover approaches to grieving and dealing with sorrow. Better Choices, Better Health: Diabetes is a six week two-hour program that helps those living with pre-diabetes or diabetes and their support person to improve their general health by learning to find practical ways to deal with symptoms of diabetes, discover better nutritional and exercise choices, and find better ways to talk to your doctor and family about your health. Chronic Pain Self-Management Program

The Chronic Pain Self-Management Program is a FREE, 6-week, two-hour workshop that helps participants, and their support person deal with the ongoing issues associated with chronic pain.
