CASA Advocate Initial Training

Voices For Children, Inc., CASA of Brazos Valley is looking for community members who are interested in being trained and sworn-in as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA).  CASAs help guide a child or sibling group through the child welfare system until the child or siblings can be placed in a safe, permanent, and nurturing home. They serve as a link between the child and the court system to ensure that the child is not lost in the cracks of the larger foster care system.  The 30-hour training takes place in eight sessions over a three-week timeframe and is offered at no cost to the trainee.  An orientation, application and interview process is required prior to training.  Please call 979-822-9700 or vfc@voicesforchildreninc.org for more information or visit our website at www.vfcbrazos.org.
