Faithfully Waiting and Watching
As we enter the season of Advent, a time for faithful watching and preparing for the birth of Jesus, we look back while standing in the present with hope of being guided into the future. Looking back to a time of a Middle Eastern teenager's pregnancy amidst a region dominated by the Roman Empire.
A teen who would soon come to flee her homeland as a tyrant leader called for the mass death of all male children. It was Jesus he was after, and it was Jesus that Mary held in her arms as she left her homeland in search for safety across the borders of another. Terror, violence, suffering, and human migration is very much a part of the Advent season, then and now.
At All Pilgrims, we will journey together as we faithfully wait and watch for the movement of the Spirit who gives new birth, vision, and hope. In our waiting and watching, we will seek to know God's dream for our lives, for God's world, and for God's human family. We will celebrate Las Posadas, a tradition commonly celebrated in Spain and Mexico, as well as parts of the U.S. where we walk with Mary and Joseph in search for shelter. And, finally, we will awaken to a new dawn and all that God brings with it.
Come and join us on this meaningful journey as we are faithfully moved in this day!

Thank you to everyone who attended our Fall Appreciation Dinner. We had much to celebrate, including the 5th Anniversary of the Thursday night supper. Congratulations to Sharon Nichols and Jim Malatak, who received the Jon Nelson Community Service Award! Sharon and Jim are integral to the success of the Thursday supper and we so appreciate the time they give to the program.

All Church Christmas Party
Come join us for some Christmas cheer and a few holiday treats during the fellowship hour on Sunday, December 20.
Enjoy conversation with old friends and new, and maybe a Christmas tune or two.
Friend to Friend Christmas Basket

This annual fundraiser is for the Greater Seattle Area Friend to Friend America Volunteer program in nursing, assisted living, retirement centers and group homes. Tickets for the basket will be sold during fellowship hour on December 13 and 20. Each ticket is $1, or you may purchase 6 for $5. The winners will be announced on December 20.

This money will go to support the Friend to Friend office in Des Moines, WA. At this location, volunteers are placed at the request of a family member or social worker, to be a friend to residents in 1 of over 300 nursing, assisted living, adult family homes, and retirement centers in the greater Seattle area.

Thank you! - Berlena Brock, West Seattle Chapter Coordinator
Christmas Poinsettias

To sign-up and help decorate the church with a poinsettia plant Poinsettia for the holiday season, visit the Information Table in Stuart Hall during fellowship hour, or email the Church Office. You are not required to make a donation in order to honor someone, however, please be aware the poinsettias are not a budgeted expense, so we need to collect enough extra offerings to cover the cost ($7 per plant). Poinsettias will be offered through Sunday, December 13. The plants can be picked up and taken home on December 24, after the Christmas Eve service. Please be sure to note if the plant is in honor or memory of someone, and kindly provide their name(s).

Thank you for your generosity!
