Movie starts at 7:00 pm, doors open at 6:00 pm

Community Supper Update

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the Community Lunch Appreciation Dinner in October.  Our dessert dash raised more than $2,500 thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended!  These donations are much needed in this difficult fundraising environment.  For the first time in the history of the Community Lunch, we had to tap into our reserve funds to meet expenses in October so again, your generosity is appreciated!  Read more.

The Rocks Don't Lie
- a book review

The Rocks Don't Lie is a book of interest to both scientific and biblical scholars.  One of the most interesting scientific illustrations is on page 18. The illustration shows a cross section of the Grand Canyon with the age in millions of years and geological formations noted.  The bottom of the Grand Canyon is dated at about 2 billion years old.  In contrast, the biblical chronology discussed on page 97 dates Creation as Sunday October 23, 4004 BC.  The book has an interesting dust cover showing rock formations in Scotland.  The Sources and Index are well done. The author David Montomery lives in Seattle and teaches at the University of Washington.  I enjoyed reading the book.
