PRINCIPAL'S  MESSAGE:

Dear Parents,

Lent is fast approaching and all are welcome to join us as we mark the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday, February 18 at Blessed Sacrament Parish.  The mass begins at 9:30 a.m.

Pope Francis in his Lenten Message stated (full message was tweeted on our Corpus Christi twitter account):

Lent is a favourable time for letting Christ serve us so that we in turn may become more like him. This happens whenever we hear the word of God and receive the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. There we become what we receive: the Body of Christ. In this body there is no room for the indifference which so often seems to possess our hearts. For whoever is of Christ, belongs to one body, and in him we cannot be indifferent to one another. "If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if one part is honoured, all the parts share its joy" (1 Cor 12:26).

Let us
take the time during Lent to listen to our hearts and allow the Holy Spirit to work in us.

God Bless,

M. Schreider
Principal

SCHOOL UPDATES:

Registrations for our Full Day Junior/Senior Kindergarten are ongoing.  If you have a child that is eligible for JK (must be 4 years old by December 31, 2015), please come by the office to pick up a registration package.

The giving of alms is an important part of Lent and we ask that you give generously to our food drive in support of Centretown Emergency Food Centre. More details will be sent out later this month.

Our girls and boys badminton performed very well at the school board tournament (January 15 Girls and January 22 Boys).  Congratulations to all the participants for representing and being excellent ambassadors for Corpus Christi - job well down.

Both the Chess and Robotics clubs have begun.  Students are very excited about both clubs as this is another educational activity that is both fun and challenging. I would like to thank School Council and Mr. Ouellette for organizing and teaching the Robotics Club.

Thank you to the after school choir who did an excellent job singing at our Epiphany Celebration last month.  It was wonderful to hear the children fill the church with their beautiful voices. A special thank you to Mrs. Casagrande for preparing the children for this mass.
