Class Reunions
Friday morning Mass in the Chapel

Friday Morning Mass is held at 7 a.m. each week when school is in session in our school's chapel, located in the Convent. When there is a conflict with McNicholas' Friday schedule, Mass is held on Thursday mornings.

McNick at Night

McNicholas High School will be hosting its 17th annual McNick at Night event on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Norlyn Manor in Batavia. This event is our largest fundraiser, and it helps to support our school in many ways that tuition alone cannot cover. The evening includes an open bar, an elegant buffet dinner, games, silent and live auctions, and entertainment provided by the McNicholas Jazz Band. The auction accounts for a significant portion of the event proceeds and is led by a professional auctioneer. While we rely heavily on the business community to donate items for the auction, we also count on the support of the McNicholas family and individuals like you, our dedicated parents, alumni, and friends.

NEW THIS YEAR--Introducing BidPal, the best in hand-held auction technology!  BidPal will allow McNick at Night guests to place bids, track bids, and follow the auction from their own smartphone.  Read more about it!

Please consider donating an item to include in the auction.

There will be a receptive audience at McNick at Night looking forward to bidding on items like tickets to sporting or entertainment events, a vacation home rental, restaurant gift cards, jewelry, or anything in between! If you are able to donate an item, please complete the  Auction Donation Form and return to the Development Office by February 28.  Please contact Annette McHugh at 513-619-5814 or amchugh@mcnhs.org if you have any questions.

Hall of Fame Night

This year, the Hall of Fame night on February 26 will be an event honoring both an outstanding female alumni athlete and outstanding male alumni athlete. The speaker will be Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame member, Ron Oester.  The Master of Ceremony for the evening will be Jeff Mulvey.  Doors open for cash bar at 6 pm, dinner at 7pm catered by Carrabba's of Anderson.  Cost is $25 in advance, $30 at the door. For tickets, please contact Susan Rohlfs at srohlfs@mcnhs.org or 231-3500 x5142.  Tickets will be available online starting in January. Click here to purchase tickets.

Penny Day Wrap-up

The grand total for this year's Penny Day collection was $5,800! Thanks to the student body, faculty, alums and those riding down Beechmont who stopped in to donate for your generosity. Since the program's start in 2000, McNicholas has raised $94,900.  Next year, we will very likely go over $100,000.  Donations supported Catholic inner city schools (CISE) and Project Education in Nicaragua.

Adopt a Garden Bed
Whether you are a garden guru or just learning, we invite you to join us for the 2015 growing season. This will be year number five for the McNick community garden and we are excited for another opportunity to learn and grow together. All the hard part of building a garden has been done for you. We have eight existing raised beds available for adopting by individuals, groups, or families. You will get to choose which plants to put in your bed and will enjoy eating and sharing fresh seasonal food. If you are interested in growing with us this year, please contact Lauren Wulker , Regina Goines , or Mary Dennemann . We will send a follow up email that includes a survey asking about your availability. We would like to host a meet and greet for our 2015 gardeners at the end of February or beginning of March.
Sophomore Named To National Team

McNicholas High School's Sophie Gorman joined elite players from the United States on the NSCA All-American Team. Each year, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) names an All-American team from the thousands of women's high school soccer players across the country. "Being named an All American was amazing,' Gorman said. "I didn't understand the significance until I started getting congrats from the people around me, even including my old coaches."

Gorman is one of only two sophomores of the 44 players named for the honor. The honorees received special recognition at an awards ceremony in Philadelphia on January 17. Gorman was also named to the NSCAA Girls All-Central Region team and was the Southwest Ohio Player of the Year. She was also named First Team All-State as part of a team that took home the first State Championship for women's soccer in school history. "In the next two years it would be fun to do all this again, "Gorman said. "I think we have a chance to be very good at McNick for several more years. There is a lot of talent returning." Gorman added, "My next two years of high school are an opportunity for me to grow as an individual and for the team to grow. There's always room for more improvement, and each year is a step farther to get myself and those around me prepared to play at the next level in college."

Walsh has served in various positions around the Archdiocese, including as a teacher at McNicholas and Fenwick High Schools, and as President/Rector of Mount St. Mary's Seminary.

Reunions for 2015

Our years at McNicholas High School were truly a special time---a time when we were in the beginning stages of trying to find and create ourselves, forming our faith, and building the foundation to prepare us for life's challenges. Since, we have all gone our separate ways and met many challenges and successes.  Let's come together to share our life experiences.

The following classes are celebrating a special anniversary year: 1955, 1960, 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, and 2010. Please try to make contact with members of your class so that you can get ready for your special reunion celebration. Click here for the reunion planning guide.

Reunions are a special time for your class to renew friendships, share memories and exchange news. As your Alumni Manager, I will assist you during many of the steps along the way, including encouraging your class to consider having your reunion (or some aspect of it) on campus.  The Development and Alumni Relations office has compiled information, resources, and services to help you make this event an interesting and enriching experience. Please contact the office so that we can put your information on the school website.
