The last month of the school year for seniors has arrived. To ensure that all goes smoothly, we want to confirm the important dates, times, and processes as we approach graduation. Here is a short checklist:
- Seniors must verify that service hours and paperwork are complete and turned in to Mr. Roflow.
- Seniors must return all school property, including all athletic uniforms, calculators, books, and pay all fines or the diploma will be withheld.
- All tuition and fees must be paid in full by May 1, 2014 in order to be able to pick up graduation caps and gowns. If tuition and fees are not paid in full by May 1, your student will not be permitted to participate in the Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation Ceremony.
The Baccalaureate Mass will be Tuesday evening, May 20 at 7:00 p.m. at Guardian Angels Church, the evening before commencement. In order to allow more parents to attend, please be selective in extending invitations to anyone else so that all of our guests are able to sit comfortably in church.
The Class of 2014 Graduation will be Wednesday evening, May 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Music Hall. This is a formal ceremony designed to recognize each student for his or her accomplishment. To preserve the dignity of the occasion, and to proceed at an appropriate pace, we appreciate your cooperation with the following: Any and all applause will be cued from the podium. All guests at the graduation are required to maintain a respectful silence throughout the ceremony. Calling out names or making noise as the ceremony is in progress is not acceptable.
Students will be issued a total of eight tickets for graduation. Two green tickets will be for the parents and six white tickets will be for other relatives that will be attending. The parents will be given seats toward the front of the hall and the others will be seated toward the back.
Seniors are required to attend a graduation practice at Music Hall from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, and they need to bring money for parking; they will not be able to use metered street parking. For the graduation ceremony, all seniors are required to arrive at Music Hall between 6:00 and 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Doors will open for parents and guests at 6:15 p.m. We strongly encourage you to arrive as a family to facilitate the flow of traffic and parking.
Please keep the
corrected Senior Bulletin in a visible place at home so that you can refer to it as the days unfold. We have also posted this on the website for easy access.
Seniors--Good luck in the days to come! Continue to attend to your schoolwork, and to enjoy your last days as a student at McNicholas. The Class of 2014 is indeed a terrific class, and we look forward to hearing from you in the future and to seeing you as active alumni at McNicholas!
Parents-Congratulations and thank you for your support of your student, of Archbishop McNicholas, and of Catholic education.
Sincerely,
Patricia A. Beckert
Principal
