Teach Money Skills

Need to teach kids about money and finance.  Here are some great tools we found on the internet for you!  

H.I.P Pocket Change-  This cool and interactive US Mint website teaches kids about the history of coins and the Mint through games and cartoons.

Money Central Station-  The US Treasury explains the basics of the US currency and anti-counterfeiting measures to kids.Click on the Go Ticket Booth to be launched into two learning games, Bucky's Fair for ages 5-8 and Treasure Dome for ages 9-13.

FDIC Learning Bank-  Visit the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation's Learning Bank with tour guide, Carmen Cents as she takes students through the basics of the agency and provides access to other FDIC websites.

Planet Orange-  Take a tour of basic money skills with Cedric and Amy on Planet Orange.  Students in grades 1st through 6th can learn about earning, spending, saving and investing money.

ING Unsung Heroes Awards Program- Need money for your classroom?  Grants are available through the ING Unsung Heroe Program.  Awards up to $240,000 in grants each year to k-12 educators to help fund innovative classroom projects.
