TIME IS LIKE A RIVER

"Time is like a river. You cannot touch the same water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Enjoy every moment of your life."
~ quote from WorkingWomen.com

The fluidity of life. Always shifting, always changing. No two moments can ever be the same. And once the day is over, it is over and can never be revisited. We all know this and we all know that the only constant is change.

Think of it like getting into a canoe at one end of a lake and working your way to the other side. That is our journey through life. It has a starting point and an ending point. We can only go in one direction, and there is no turning back.

Each day we are given another twenty four hours of time. Another continuance of our journey in our canoe. We will touch the water moment by moment and as the next moment arrives, we have choice in what we do with that moment. We cannot touch the same water twice.

Sometimes the water gets rough and risky. Other times the water is smooth and easy. We may see others in the lake paddling their canoes. We wave and say hello. We can't paddle for them, and they can't paddle for us.

By the time we get to the other side of the lake we will have left a legacy. We have created this legacy by the choices we made during each moment we were in the canoe. The flow that has passed will never pass again.

At the end of your journey, will you get out of your canoe leaving a legacy of kindness, mercy, forgiveness, acceptance and generosity? That would be an awesome legacy to leave. Remember that every second of every minute of every day of your journey you have an opportunity to make choices that will eventually be your legacy.

"The words that you state
 The actions that you take
 The choices that you make
All add up to your legacy.

 Think before you leap
 You can't go back."

A NOTE FROM THE UNIVERSE

"I am always there. I never leave you. I was there yesterday and every day before that. I am with you now, and I will be there every day that follows.

I mean, where else am I going?"
