My last workshop was very interesting......It became quite apparent that all of the women who found their way to this class had something in common. Different stories, same theme. They were all "fixers". I'm a recovering fixer myself I might add, so it was great to have all of us together under one roof. No coincidences!
Fixing. Isn't that what we are supposed to do when something is broken, or in need of, well, fixing? From appliances to zippers, if it's broken it needs a "fixin". Even sitting down in a restaurant that has a wobbly table. A simple match book and the problem is fixed! You get my drift......We are taught how to fix at a very young age. And that is good to be a fixer, depending on what we are trying to fix.(I stay away from trying to fix mechanical things. Nope, that is when I call in the master of all fixing in our household, Mike.)
The women in the class were hoping they could fix "people". You know, the ones they see as "broken". The ones they feel are "not working right". But trying to fix humans just doesn't work. We have to draw a the line sand when we attempt to change people. Because at the end of the day, nothing feels worse than feeling like a battery that lost all its power.
Because we have been programmed to fix all things, it's natural that we want to often help fix the ones we love the most. Or maybe it's a co worker or neighbor. Doesn't matter. If it walks like a human, talks like a human, please understand......not fixable.
Anytime we send out a vibration of "you need fixing and please let me help" it actually repels them: he, she, whoever, away. They read our energy that we think they need fixing. It motivates them not the least to change the situation or their behavior, whatever our perceived problem with them is. Unknowingly, we actually contribute to the "perceived problem".
The truth is that we do not have power to control the thoughts or behaviors of others. Would you enjoy someone who thinks you need fixing and they keep showing up to show you how to do it? I know I would not like that and I bet that you would not as well. I have a beautiful tapping script called "Turning it Over to God. I did not write this one, I believe I got it from Rick Wilkes Thriving Now site. I use it, I love it, it helps me so much when I get caught up in the wanting to fix trap. If you want me to email a copy to you, let me know!!
And speaking of tapping, my next workshop called "Learn How to Tap Down Worry" might be a good place for you to land if this fixer thing resonated with you. Worry goes hand and hand with wanting them to change.

A NOTE FROM THE UNIVERSE
This month there is no Note from the Universe. Instead I dedicate this block to my step nephew Alex who was taken from us at the delicate age of 26 in January. Alex wrote his Positive Attitude/Outlook for Life
"Always look forward to something/Everything is possible
Always remember what you have, not what you don't
It's almost impossible to be positive or negative at the same time. Be positive
Appreciate every little thing in life. Tomorrow it might not be there"
~Alex J,
Thank you Alex, you are a wise old soul. We miss you terribly but are comforted by the fact that you are home. And at peace.
