A Wedding, a Birthday, an AnniversaryHappy Fall and Happy October from me and Molly Rose!I walk 2 miles everyday, along a route that is a beautiful display of Mother Nature in all her glory. There are trees close enough I can touch them. There are elevations where I can view them on the horizon. Here and there are clusters of man made landscapes. Every bit of it beautiful and energizing. Lately I've ditched the iPod for just tuning into the energy of the trees. They are literally "showing off" right now and I love my front row seat. The energy of trees.....in the spring, creative re-birthing, summer is productive, fall is when they "shine", and winter is time for rest and restoration.
Similarly, we too have that same energy within us. And we don't have to wait for the season to change to experience it either. Heck, in the course of one day we can "spring forth" new creative ideas, work hard and be productive, "shine" and show off our best....and rest and restore.
Like the trees we are a part of nature and that is why just being out in it feels so good and boosts our vibration.
October 1, the start of the month, was also my birthday, 64 if you were wondering. I never "got" why people, especially women, hide their age, like it is something to be ashamed of. Frankly, I am happy that I made it this far! Oh once in a while I lament, when I see young moms with their little ones, I pine for those days and wish I could turn back the clock. But remember this:
We all age at the same rate. I had my turn to be 4, 14, 24, 34, 44, 54, and now it's my turn to be 64. If I play my cards right, there will be a 74 and an 84 and dare I say 94? I once worked with a man who started his day off every day reading the obits in the paper. His conclusion? As long as his name did not appear, he had every reason to feel grateful.
"More wrinkles, fewer doubts. Older body, younger spirit. Less time, greater purpose." Don't know who to credit that to, saw it on Facebook!!
October 18th is right around the corner, and it's the day that we are referring to as the
Wedding of the Century. Our oldest son Michael will marry his beloved Caitlin at their all time favorite place, the Castle Hill Inn in Newport. Another reminder as to how fast time flies! Wasn't it just yesterday when this little fireball of energy was running around the house with a hockey stick that was twice his size? It will be a lovely gala and my heart is already brimming with joy thinking about being under the wedding tent with so many friends and family that I love. It's been years of planning and it is finally really coming to fruition.
And the anniversary? Well, October marks the 6th year of my writing these monthly newsletters! If you don't already know this, I absolutely love to write these newsletters! And if you have been a loyal reader, my ultimate gratitude to you. I always appreciate the feedback you send. I write these newsletters in the spirit of wanting to inspire you, uplift you, remind you as to how important your existence on the planet is, and to share my self with you.
To wrap up the month, I am offering a class on October 25th called
"Tap Down Your Worry" As you know, another passion of mine is to teach people how to apply the
Emotional Freedom Techniques, commonly known as EFT, in order to reduce stress and anxiety.
Everyone has and will have stressful situations pop up and everyone could benefit from this handy dandy tool to deal "in the moment" with whatever it is that is "pushing your buttons" Tap here to read the details about this class. If worry is your default, then this class is for you!
"Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart." Author unknown.
