Medicine My Way

January 2014

best head shot
Tina Marian

It's both my passion and desire to contribute to the betterment of the world by spreading the message that a state of well being is for
everyone. No matter how old you are, or what stage you are in, or what you have been through, I believe that you can find your way back to the Wholeness that was always your birthright.  We are born magnificent beings but get conditioned into mediocrity. It is up to you decide that you want to find your way back. And I'll partner with you to get      there.

For more information about my Holistic Health Counseling and EFT practice, please visit my web site or contact me by phone or email. Counseling sessions can take place  in my Northboro residence or conducted just as effectively on the phone.

My Radio Interview

Back in February, I was interviewed by Dr. Lorraine Hurley on her radio program "Having the Guts to Heal" about the topic of EFT. I had fun doing it and thought it was a great interview. If you would like to hear it, click here.

January Events

Start off the New Year by giving yourself the gift of learning how to relieve your stress with the use of EFT

Feeling Overwhelmed? I Can Help!

Who isn't overwhelmed these days? The feeling of overwhelm can feel, well, overwhelming and can cause enormous amounts of stress to become the norm, which is so not good for your body. Overwhelm can lead to always feeling tired, low level depression and adrenal fatigue. Staying in the state of overwhelm can leave you feeling stuck and unable to do anything! We lose our clarity when we are in overwhelm often times leading us to making unhealthy choices with our diet or our lifestyle and even relationships. If this is you, then you need to be in this class. As a nurse I am very passionate about helping others feel better, using natural methods such as EFT which is a self-applied acupressure technique. EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. Safe, easy and effective.

This will be a 3 hour class where the goal is to have you exposed to lots and lots of tapping on anything and everything that has you in a state of overwhelm. You will leave with the ability to apply EFT to yourself, and I will send you home with a script to use. You will leave feeling calmer and more optimistic about your life.

This class will be offered twice in 2 separate locations:

Saturday January 11
Northboro Chiropractic Center
6 Maple Street
Northboro MA
Noon to 3 PM

Saturday January 25
Shrewsbury Family Chiropractic
6 Hascall Street
Shrewsbury MA
Noon to 3 PM

Fee: $40.00

Attendees can

THE BLUEBIRD OF HAPPINESS
"Every single person on the planet and every single Consciousness in the Universe has the same experience of being HERE but always having a desire to be THERE. In other words, it is the promise of this eternal Universe. You are always going to be on your way to something more - always. And when you RELAX and accept that, and stop beating up on yourself for not being someplace you are not, and instead, start embracing where you are while you keep your eye on where you're going - now life becomes really, really really fun."

~ Abraham
From Abraham-Hicks.com

I love the work of Jerry and Esther Hicks and I love that quote. It explains our human condition."I am here but I would rather be there" Those times when it's not so easy to accept our current reality and the tendency to push against it. On a persistent basis, this can lead to a life of distractions, even addictions, anything to avoid being where we are.

When we were little my parents would load all 5 of us kids into the car for what seemed to be an excruciatingly long four hour trip to Grandma's house. We would barely be into the trip before the boredom would set in and the often asked question, "Are we there yet?" would begin. The way my parents would handle that was to play the game, "Who can spot the red car, or the restaurant or the stop sign or a horse first? That immediately interrupted our yearning for the trip to be over and focused our attention on the present.
It was fun and it made the journey more enjoyable. We just played games and stopped worrying about how much longer...we were no longer focused on being there. It became fun to be in the present.

It's almost a month now since I was laid off from my job.
I have never in my adult life not worked. I worked through pregnancies, while going back to school, while juggling my holistic practice with a full time job. And now that some of the shock has worn off, I am shifting to a new gear. I am learning how to be in the moment more. I have the gift of time, the ability to sleep late, read a book, do yoga, catch up with old friends, cook warm and delicious soups. Take time to decide, with clarity, the next step.

And the best part is learning how to really FEEL grateful. Oh, I always did those gratitude lists, that was an easy task, just jot a few things down on paper, like a no brainer exercise. But this is very different for me now. I was too busy before to stop and BE in the moment, and drink in the blessings that were always right before my eyes, except I was in too much of a hurry to notice. Not anymore. My gratitude often moves me to tears.

Through this experience I am learning to take nothing for granted. I am learning to stop and count my blessings early and often. I am also learning that there are things we want to have and things we need to have, so I am learning to simplify. I am putting my father's old adage to work: "Use up, fix up, make do." I don't feel the need to chase anything right now. I feel like I lack for nothing. I truly feel abundant.

I am learning that the Universe has a plan for each and every one of us and that it's better if we step forward in faith and with trust instead of feeling like we have to figure it out alone. I am learning to sit and wait for the signals for the next step and that I do not need to jump from the frying pan into the fire. Believe it or not, the Universe has our best intentions, even if we cannot make sense of our current circumstances.

It's a new year and that means a new direction. Forget about resolutions, that just sets you up for deprivation and failure. Instead decide to add some fun to your life. Just add something fun. Period. Your vibration will soar and that is what we all want. Feeling joyful plus feeling grateful equals the vibration of abundance. That is how you open up space for the good stuff to find you.

By the way, that beautiful picture of the bluebird was taken by one of my former coaching clients, a wise and lovely gentleman named Tommy who taught me many things about life during our work together. He is a very talented photographer among other things. He is amazing and when his book comes out I will let you know.  He took the picture when he was in Kenya. He said  "The bluebird is sitting atop a Thorn tree, a perfect metaphor for living life with a positive view!"

And may The Bluebird of Happiness deliver you a blessed prosperous and healthy 2014!

"The bluebird carries the sky on his back"
~Henry David Thoreau

notes from the Universe
A NOTE FROM THE UNIVERSE

"I want you to know that I've ordered up another year for you. Think I'll call it 2014.

I am going to put most of the same people from 2013 in it, since you already think so much alike. But there will also be a few new very cool cats coming to play. Give them some time to grow  up though.

And I am going to have things start off pretty much where they left off in 2013, for continuity's sake. Flips folks out too much when I don't.

All in all 365 more days in Paradise....and only one request of you...

DREAM BIGGER!

Coolio?

Let's do this.
