Anyway, on my birthday I turned 63 and stepping to my third chakra for the second time! What is a chakra you ask? We have our physical body but we also have our spiritual body or aura, or etheric bodies/energy field. Chakras are powerful vortexes of energy that begin at the base of the spine and run to the top of the head. From the day we were born,
we move through one of our seven chakras every seven years. Do the math, and understand that by the age of 49, we will have moved through them all and if we are lucky enough, get a chance to move through them again. They all have meaning and often what we are going through in life has a lot to do with what chakra we are in. Depending on our earlier experiences the chakra could be balanced or not.
Feeling like life is changing at its very root, or feeling like your life is coming undone could well occur when you are in your
first chakra again (49-55) This is the energy center related to money, sex, tribe and family, self worth and addiction. Its color is red. It is located at the base of your spine.
The
second chakra is about creating and creativity. I know for me, from 55 up til now, it has been seven years of an investment in creating a holistic path for myself and my career. Additionally in the second chakra resides motherhood and mother-child issues. Its color is orange. It is located in your pelvic area.
The
third chakra is the seat of the will. Self-esteem vitality and a zest for life and life purpose live here. It's time for power versus fear. It's the solar plexus and its color is yellow.
The
fourth chakra is the heart chakra and all issues related to it. Trust issues, issues of honesty, compassion and the ability to express and receive love reside here. Its color is green.
The
fifth chakra is the energy of communication or expression. Blocked energy may show up as inability to express or inability to listen to the communication of others. Its color is blue and it is located in the center of the throat.
The
sixth chakra is the third eye, or where we have the energy of intuitiveness, and cognitive knowingness. The pineal gland is located here. It is located on the center of your forehead and its color is indigo.
And the
seventh chakra is the crown chakra, located at the top of your head. It represents the energy of universal oneness, creation, wholeness, spiritual awareness. The color of the seventh chakra is violet.
Understand that all chakras are working together at all times. Just like body parts, an arm is different than a leg but both work simultaneously for the benefit of the system.
When energy is unbalanced in the chakras we can find ourselves dealing over and over again with the same issues and wondering why and how to move out of these patterns. If you want to understand chakras better, I strongly suggest reading
Wheels of Light by Rosalyn Bruyere. It's the best book out there on the subject.
