You don't know any of the people. That is your loss. Honestly it is! But these are names that have one thing in common:
- John & Nell
- Jim & Deanna
- Roger & Thelma
- Curtis & Margaret
- Donald & Edith
- RC & Mabel
- Milt & Lorene
- Nash & Thelma
- Monroe & Louise
- Jeep & Cathryn
- Bill & Snookie
- David & Becky
- Ben & Betty
- Nick & Jean
- Dwayne & Debbie
You probably do not know any of those people. That's okay, but it is your loss.
This is what they all have in common: they were all married for a long time, and all of their marriages could be described as full of laughter and fun.
This is a list of some of those in my life that have modeled great marriages. And it hit me that the one thing they all had was a lot of laughter. And I mean a LOT of laughter.
Marriage was fun.
All this week, I've been trying to convince you to join us on February 8-9 for the Western Kentucky Marriage retreat that New Work Fellowship is sponsoring. I've reminded you that it is the responsible thing to invest in the maintenance and care of your marriage. I've encouraged you to think of a marriage retreat like an investment that you are making for the future. That's all true.
But here is my last pitch to you (well, my last pitch for now). If you don't go you are going to miss out! It's going to be a blast. There is going to be a lot of laughter. It is going to be fun.
And honestly one of the best things you can do for your marriage is to bring a little fun and laughter back into your lives. Why not come and laugh with us? Why not come and have some fun?
Pray for your marriage today.
Pray for the marriages in our church.
Join us at the marriage retreat, and invite some of the most fun couples that you can think of, so that we will all be laughing together. Don't miss it!
Proverbs 17:22, A cheerful heart is good medicine.
Wise words. Take your marriage medicine and join us!
