Greetings!

Oh well, and there you have it.

Is it what you expected?

Are you disappointed?

Are you glad?

Were you surprised?

Really, it doesn't matter now, does it? I mean the simple truth of this day is that yesterday is history.

That's a hard truth for any of us to learn, that history comes upon us and is closed so quickly. You can't change history.

Solomon in all his unbridled optimism of Ecclesiastes declared:

Whatever is has already been,
     and what will be has been before;
     and God will call the past to account.

In other words, yesterday is history.

So then, what do you do with today?

Might I suggest the following: (Psalm 118)

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
 For His mercy endures forever.

I will praise You,
For You have answered me,
And have become my salvation.

22 The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone.
 23 This was the Lord's doing;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
 24 This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Not bad advice for days like today. In your prayer time, would you take some time rejoicing before the Lord and praising Him for the gift of this day?
