Sat. Nov. 1 (7 p.m.) & Sat. Nov. 15 (4 p.m.), Living Faith Lutheran Church in Rockville, Md. 

A musical offering from professional musicians will be presented to benefit the congregation which has provided them rehearsal and performance space. On the 1st, a Gamer Symphony Small Ensemble Showcase will be shared; on the 15th, a Chamber Music Showcase will be presented by the Montgomery County Chamber Music Society (MCCMS). Concerts are free, but donations will be marched (up to $25) during the MCCMS concert.

Boston-based physician and author Alice Rothchild is an advocate for reconciliation, justice and peace and a witness to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The synod's Middle East Working Group brings attention to two opportunities to hear her speak on her latest book this month.

The Fall Festival hosted by the Auxiliary of the Village at Rockville features a Christmas Room, jewelry, baked goods, Grandma's Attic, stamps books and more. Lunch and lighter fare available. All proceeds benefit residents. Thrivent will assist with matching funds.

 

Sun. Nov. 9, 5 p.m., Pilgrim Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Bethesda, Md. 

Commemorating the day when the Berlin Wall fell 25 years ago on Nov. 9, 1989, an ecumenical and bilingual worship service giving thanks and remembering is being planned by the German Lutheran Church Washington, DC in collaboration with the German Embassy in D.C. and Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ. German Ambassador Peter Wittig will give an address, and works from Germany's musical tradition will be performed.

Choir Director
