From the President
Jim Kerr
We're only a few days away from the RNC, which will put Cleveland in the spotlight.  The influx of people and technology will bring stress to the region's network infrastructure in a whole new way.  With the combination of thousands of visitors downtown along with those who are avoiding the fray by working remotely at home, expect slower than normal Internet speeds throughout the area.

The CRU team works hard behind the scenes to keep IT running smoothly for businesses throughout Northeast Ohio.  As always, we're here to help.
Sincerely,
Jim Kerr
President

Is your network secure from ex-employees?
IT security
When an employee leaves your company, how do you also make sure their access to your business data is terminated? Particularly with mobile devices, an ex-employee may have emails and contact information on a smartphone that may belong to them, not you.  Here's how you can protect your data.

Local IT services
For years, we've been encouraged to buy locally from farmer's markets, retailers and restaurants. Are the reasons for buying your strawberries from a local farmer similar to purchasing IT services locally?  Here are 3 reasons we think the answer is a resounding "yes".
Email PhishingPhishing is malicious email correspondence that tries to get you to "take the bait" by clicking on an infected attachment or embedded link.  It only takes one errant click to become a victim, and small businesses are not immune because everyone has information that can be valuable to a hacker.  Here's how to identify a phishing email.
