Relieving Stress, Building Support
 | | California Cryobank representative Scott Brown reading to a Choice Kid at one of our 2012 events |
The most important advice we hear at our Choice Mom networking events is the value of having a support network on this journey, from Thinking to Being stages. No matter how self-sufficient we are, the goal of Choice Motherhood is not to parent alone, but rather to consciously build a village around ourself and our child.
How to do that? If your network changes, or if your family doesn't support your choice, or if you simply are used to juggling everything alone -- what can you do to relieve the stress and add to your community?
The new Choice Mom E-guide to Relieving Stress, Building Support is a 17-page PDF compilation of the most popular stories from fellow Choice Moms, useful insights from experts, and commentaries about my Choice Mom life with two kids, now 13 and 8. The links, excerpts and stories were all created specifically for ChoiceMoms.org.

2012 Events Conclude; 2013 Cities Being Chosen
Thanks to long-time event sponsor California Cryobank, we had another great year of networking events (Chicago, New York, D.C., Austin, Long Beach), giving away free vials of sperm to 5 lucky women.
We're starting to discuss 2013 plans. We will expand the events to include special guest speakers, Choice Mom panel discussions and small group breakout sessions, for a larger community of women. Front-runners include: Arlington, Charlotte, Boston, Los Angeles and a full weekend retreat in northern San Francisco. Send an email to info @ choicemoms.org to express your interest.

Talking Amongst Ourselves
We are building our new discussion space for Choice Moms on Big Tent. We have a group for all women on this journey, as well as special forums for women who are Thinking, Trying to Conceive, Adopting, Parenting, and a space where women from localized regions can connect with each other. (I heard from a woman in Canada who had trouble accessing; if you are outside the U.S. and having issues, let me know at info @ choicemoms.org and I'll find a solution.)
You are able to choose the email options for any of the groups or 26 topic areas (per email, daily digest or website-only basis). If you'd like to help me develop this resource, as co-moderator or as someone who can write a simple how-to instruction for newcomers, please contact me.
We also continue to offer:
