Telling Our Story: To Our Children, Our Community
One of our newest Choice Kids at our Austin event

Next week I head to Long Beach for the last Choice Mom networking event of the year (join us for dinner October 20!), and to the annual ASRM convention in San Diego to learn the latest in reproductive science for our large Trying community.

This week, as I've begun to prepare for the trip, I've been reminded of our pride -- and sometimes trepidation -- in telling our stories. Several requests came in for storybooks to share with their children, so I've updated our Recommended Reading list. I welcome your additions.

Speaking of Choice Mom pride, we have a new exciting opportunity to share our story with the Katie Couric show in New York City

We are still looking for Trying women interested in connecting, in front of cameras, in Los Angeles. Read about that show here.

And the documentarian in France, who is trying to open up the discussion in her country to allow for Choice Motherhood, is looking for Choice Moms in the early stages -- including any using a surrogate. She'll travel anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Europe.

Meet Us for Dinner in Long Beach, California, October 20!

Registration is open for conversation and early dinner at McKenna's restaurant in Orange County for women at any stage of the Choice Mom journey (space for a few Choice Kids as well). Choice Mom Carla Pedrussian will be on hand as well, representing sponsor California Cryobank, with a free vial of sperm to raffle off.

I'm also looking for women interested in meeting at a weekend retreat at Earthrise in northern San Francisco in March 2013. Send an email to info @ choicemoms.org to express your interest.

Talking Amongst Ourselves
We are still testing out our new discussion space on Big Tent. I will offer more details for new members in November. In the meantime, these discussion boards are still welcoming members:
