 Hello All,
Marie O'Sullivan, our latest Masterson Method Certified Practitioner (MMCP) in Ireland, suggested that we submit our Weekend Seminar-Workshop to the Irish Massage Therapist Association (IMTA) for continuing education credits with the massage certification board in Ireland. Good news is we're now approved for 40 Continuous Professional Development points (CPDs) with the IMTA. IMTA is the Irish counterpart to the NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork) in the United States, with whom our courses already qualify for continuing education, or professional development, credits. Thanks Marie!
The Masterson Method™ and TTouch: Similar Focus
 Over the years, several people who have been trained in the Linda Tellington-Jones's TTouch have also attended our seminars and have commented on similarities between the two methods of working with the nervous system of the animal. One of our Instructors, Diane Howard, who is also trained in TTouch, taught a Masterson Method Weekend Seminar at the Icelandic Horse Farm in Vernon, B.C. Our host, Robyn Hood sister of Linda Tellington-Jones, says that the workshop "gives participants a good way to start listening to their horses." Diane commented; "We had 16 participants from five countries. One woman from Japan flew over expressly for the course, staying in North America for a total of 6 days." Sounds like a success! We are looking forward to scheduling another one with Robyn next year.
Weekend Seminar-Workshop with a Barrel Racing Competitor
 Speaking of foreign countries, in Wyoming (just kidding - I used to live there myself!) Our hostess, Barrel Racer Christie Hebert's Weekend Seminar-Workshop is filling, but we still have spots available. Christie is an active Barrel Racer and has found equine bodywork to be complimentary to her racing. She is on the verge of becoming a Masterson Method Certified Practitioner, and describes her experiences with The Masterson Method™ and barrel racing in an article in this newsletter. Please click here to read what Christie has to share. Not only is she is hosting this seminar, but she will also be assisting Certified Instructor, Venessa Helvey, who works with cutting horses. Helping Out Our Equine Friends
 In July, we took the 2013 year-to-date profits from our first DVD, Equine Massage For Performance Horses, The Masterson Method™ and sent it to Horses For Heroes a non-profit organization benefiting the men and women who put themselves in harms way to serve our country. Each year Horses For Heroes - New Mexico, Inc. continues to advance its mission of helping Operation Iraqi Freedom & Operation Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan veterans and active military who have sustained physical injuries or combat trauma (PTSD) during their time serving our country, says Nancy De Santis, Cowboy Up! Director. Future profits from Equine Massage for Performance Horses DVD will be sent to worthwhile horse charities quarterly.

According to my father, my first spoken word was "horsey." This seems to indicate that my love of horses was not something I acquired along the way; I was born with it.
My childhood pleas to drive out to the countryside to "see the horses," became fairground pony rides, and surprise bareback sit on Northern Dancer's back in his retirement years, and eventually riding lessons at a stable in Toronto where I spent as many hours as I could working for free so I could just be with the horses.

Alessandra is a Craniosacral who treats humans, dogs and horses and has always been surrounded by them. She was fascinated about the way you can communicate with every animal with energy and body language. So she pursued the path of many doctrans; Craniosacral Therapy, Horsemassage, TCM Equine, Acupressure Works, light therapy, and Kinesiological Taping. Finally she met Jim Masterson and The Masterson Method™.

Horse's Tail Now Goes to the Right
Could you give me some advice on what to do. The other day something happened with my horse's tail and now it goes to the right when I am riding him. This also happens when he is walking in the paddock. How can I help him? He started to refuse to give the right front foot to the farrier. I thought maybe he had tension in his shoulders and has been doing the releases mostly with the leg forward technique. Also, I had been doing the back lift. Something isn't right.

Twitching During Bladder Meridian
We have been treating our Arab mare for IR/cushings. She has recent muscle atrophy, mostly topline. My chiropractor recently used you technique on her and I was amazed. I purchased the book and DVD right away. I was working on the Bladder Meridian yesterday for the first time. She released going down her neck quite often, but when I got to her withers she started twitching - I mean whole body twitching like I was a horsefly she could not shake.

I ordered the DVD, "Equine Massage for the Performance Horses," yesterday. I have a little mare I have raised since birth has; much stiffness, tightness and body pain from a variety of causes. She is 17 and nothing has helped all that much. From just a brief YouTube video of Mr. Masterson working on a horse I tried the releasing of her head and poll - I tell you I almost cried from her response.

Brought a Huge Smile
Since our weekend together I've had the opportunity to work on a diverse group horses. They all responded well to The Masterson Method™. The woman who owns the pony said; "she felt smoother at the canter, and for the first time she didn't pin her ears when asked to go over jumps." That definitely brought a HUGE smile to my face.
It is so rewarding to see how the demeanor of these horses change.....
