WWBIC works with both start-up's and growing businesses.  One of their core educational series is the Small Biz Planning Series.  This series provides in-depth learning for starting and running a small business.  They have a variety of workshops for entrepreneurs that can assist individuals with their dream, their foundation, and their growth.

In addition to education, WWBIC is the largest micro-lender in the state of Wisconsin, offering small business loans up to $100,000.  WWBIC is often able to help, even those who might have a few issues with credit and personal finances.

WWBIC offers financial awareness workshops.  These workshops cover topics such as budgeting, savings, banking, and credit repair.  In addition WWBIC manages the "Wisconsin Saves" program.  This is a statewide initiative devoted to promoting and encouraging financial awareness.  Anyone can benefit from this program which can help individuals to build wealth and develop positive spending habits.  It is a self-commitment to yourself to be more financially fit!  For additional information, or to sign up for this no cost program, go to www.wisconsin-saves.org.

Racine's Dancing with our Stars Gala

Saturday November 2, 2013 at 5:00pm

Racine's Festival Hall

MargaretAnn's Place will be hosting their annual fundraiser, Dancing With Our Stars, at downtown Festival Hall on November 2nd to raise funds and awareness to further their mission and programming.  The fundraiser, based off the hit TV show 'Dancing with the Stars,' pairs local celebrities with professional dance partners who compete with each other in a friendly but spirited dance competition. Click here to purchase tickets to support your favorite celebrity dancer today!

The event will begin at 6pm with hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar and the silent auction. We will then speak about MargaretAnn's Place and our mission, followed by the live auction and dance competition. We expect a crowd of approximately 300 guests to attend in support of their favorite dancers. In addition to the dance competition, there is an award for Crowd Favorite to encourage our dancers to really involve the community and get a great crowd out to learn about our mission. We wish no one had to utilize our services, but since death touches all our lives we want the community to be aware of our services so those children and families whose lives have been turned upside down by an untimely death will have a place to turn for support.

To learn more about options to sponsor this event and get your business advertised as part of your donation, please contact Loralei Marr by emailing loralei@margaretannsplace.org or by calling 262-909-4485.

Friday November 8, 2013
What: 19th Annual Racine Literacy Council Community Spelling Bee
When: Friday, November 8, 2013, 5:30 - 9:00 pm
Where: Roma Lodge, 7130 Spring St. Racine, WI
Why? It's more exciting than a barrel of buzzing bees, and way more fun! The Racine Literacy Council presents the Community Spelling Bee each year to raise funds for its adult literacy programs, primarily one-to-one tutoring by trained volunteer tutors. These programs are central to helping our community realize the importance and impact of improving literacy in Racine County.
The Spelling Bee is a friendly, yet thoroughly exciting and spirited, competition among a field of 3-person teams. Everyone who participates is a winner, just for competing. The worst thing that can happen is you will learn a few new words to impress your friends and family. Companies/organizations are encouraged to sponsor a team of their own, or to sponsor or co-sponsor a team from a non-profit organization. See the registration form for sponsorship details, or to register your team today! You are also invited to attend the event as a spectator/fan. The evening begins with a delicious Roma Lodge dinner and cash bar. The competition gets underway a little after 6:00 pm. An audience participation spelling bee challenge, an "A-Z" Silent Auction and a Raffle round out the evening's activities.
You won't believe how much fun it is, until you experience it for yourself!
For more information about fielding a team, or sponsoring a team from a non-profit, or to make your dinner reservation, or to purchase raffle tickets, please contact the Racine Literacy Council.
