Greetings!

 

With the passing of Labor Day, fall is just around the corner.  Although many changes come with the growing wind, YPR is still sailing into the future full speed ahead. With a shorter, hopefully more focused Livewire and the introduction of our new Facebook Page- YPR's Livewire Reloaded, we are hoping to concentrate our efforts while remaining community focused.

 

As summer winds down we encourage you to get involved (for those of you who are not already) and take part in the amazing things this city/county has to offer. While we believe Racine is a great place to live we know that by working together we can make it better. So volunteer, shop locally and take part in the community around you. Let's show this town the difference we can make as Young Professionals in the community we call home.

YPR Hope Lodge Donation Drive.

 

Facing cancer is hard. Having to travel out of town for treatment can make it even harder. Yet the American Cancer Society has a place where cancer patients and their caregivers can find help and hope when home is far away - an American Cancer Society Hope Lodge.

  

Each Hope Lodge offers cancer patients and their caregivers a free place to stay when their best hope for effective treatment may be in another city. Not having to worry about where to stay or how to pay for lodging allows guests to focus on getting well. Hope Lodge provides a nurturing, home-like environment where guests can retreat to private rooms or connect with others. Every Hope Lodge also offers a variety of resources and information about cancer and how best to fight the disease.

 

YPR will be collecting for the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge for the next four months, Click Here to view the needs list and cross check your ability to donate with your heart as we are hoping to make an impactful difference in the lives of those battling cancer.

 

Wanting to give but items are not your thing? In lieu of items, we will accept donations to the American Cancer Society. Checks can be mailed to: Attn: Young Professionals of Racine, American Cancer Society, PO Box 902, Pewaukee, WI 53072 or dropped to RAMAC 300 5t St in Racine.

Emerging Leaders is for the next generation of philanthropic professionals; those who want to understand our community, its needs and how to make a difference. Individuals (40 and under) who make an annual gift to United Way of $500 or more are invited to become members. It's as easy as giving through a workplace campaign or clicking here to donate online.

 

Lead: Participate in educational and volunteer opportunities designed to produce the next generation of philanthropic leaders. Learn first-hand from local leaders why joining the call to action is crucial to our community's future, and the impact it will make in your own life.

Serve: Make a local impact by participating in and implementing community service opportunities with United Way of Racine County.

Grow: Expand your community knowledge and your network. Take part in personal development opportunities with other Emerging Leaders that will teach you what it means to Live United and how it produces lasting change.

Through opportunities provided by United Way of Racine County, you will be connected with philanthropic executives, educated about the needs of Racine County, presented with opportunities to share your skills through volunteerism, and introduced to other professionals with the same commitment to the community as you.
